We stayed in this beautiful house in Bordeaux for just under 4 weeks during summer 2011. The house is truly beautiful, very spacious and their outdoor seating area was perfect for Al Fresco dining in the morning and evenings. The location of the house could not have been any better. Bordeaux itself is an amazing city with loads of things to see and do. Our hosts gave us unrestricted use of their bikes which we rode along the Garonne river almost everyday. There is also a tram station just a short walk away from their house which can get you into the city centre in just a few minutes. For those not wanting to spend their whole holiday in the city, the beach is just a short (1 hr) drive away. The Bassin d'Arcachon offers calmer waters ideal for younger children, whilst a little further drive down the coast (Biscarrosse) will get you into heavier waves which are great for body boarding. The Dune du Pilat (the highest sand dunes in Europe) are a must see in that area and a great day out for all the family. We visited the coast at least 5 times during our stay, not forgetting the Aqualand waterpark also on the way to the coast! Our hosts (Thierry and Claire) were the perfect exchangers. This was our first exchange and they guided us through the whole process effortlessly. They did a great job of looking after our home - we hardly knew they had been there! We'd love to go back there again one day! In summary, an amazing house, in a fantastic location, with perfect exchangers... What more could you ask for? Happy home exchanging! Dean, Katie and Phoebe x
