Welcome to Limburg!
We are a family of four. Astrid is working as a judge, Mischa designs and produces furniture. We have two daughters, Lieve and Orli, aged 5 and 8. We like to visit the city, musea and theatre, and looking at flee markets for great bargains, but also love the country side, hiking, beautiful landscapes and the beach. We both like reading, cooking, dancing tango, enjoy good food and good company. But also just sitting and doing nothing at all...The kids love to play, run, and eat lots of ice cream :) We did 6 exchanges so far and we think this is the best way to spend our holidays.

a week or two to Italy would be great!

We always like doing things that are recommended by our exchange partner. Visit your favourite bar or restaurant, go to your favourite lake or beach. We also have a lot of recommendations for our exchange partners: our favourite running trail, the most beautiful surrounding for walking, the nicest streets in Maastricht. Just tell us what your interests are and we'll try to provide the best tips for you!
Our second exchange was in Geulle near Maastrict. Astrid and Mischa have a cozy and relaxed home - great for vacation. Their home was perfect for biking, and taking a hike at the nearby canal with the kids. The house was well equipped and in a provincial area. Though, close to Maastrict. The church was 200 meters from the house. It's a surprisingly big building for the village, and with ornaments, many interesting paintings - an interessenting visits - even for the agnostic husband. A car is probably a need for most HomeExchangers. The Limburg region has a lot to offer. Astrid made a great tour-guide. We visited a number of her recommendations. Again! Our exchange was a good experience and there was more evidence of sharing with people from the global village. Are all HomeExchanger from the same segment!? :o)
We had a lovelly stay in Geule at Micha and Astrids place. We enjoyed their house and the possibility to borrow their bikes. We took a number of biking tours in the Netherlands but we also took the small ferry across the border to Belgium. Maastricht is a beautiful city to visit and the caves were really interesting for both the kids and us as parents. When we came home our home was in a perfect state, we can highly recommend to exchange with Astrid and Mischa! Besides having an awesome place they themselves are a lovely couple and very easy to connect and communicate with!
If you are looking for a break from the noisy city, and enjoy countryside, look no further. Astrid and Misha's place is what you are looking for. They were very helpful arranging for the activities we were looking for like printing perfect jogging trails for our running distance (we used almost every day, it was perfect thanks ;) or making sure we could use their bike (loved the e-bike!). The house is comfortable and very pretty inside and out. We also loved the fireplace, and sleeping with the cats at our feet (funny how we can miss them after only a week). Gueulle is situated just next to the Meuse, right in the country side, but still close to sites worth a visit. Arranging the exchange with Astrid and Mischa was seamless, as they are seasoned exchangers, we found a clean house and returned to a clean house as well. Communication was also perfect. I would highly recommend them, we wish we could have met in real life, but it was a short week. Maybe next time, looking forward to it.
We really loved this exchange with Quentin & Céline. It was very easy to make arrangements with them: with Facetime and e-mail that worked very well. They were very helpful in providing information about parking and things to do. There home-manual (e-mailed on forehand) gave all the information needed about the house. The apartment itself was perfect for us. Very clean and cosy, a well equipped kitchen, toys for the kids, great bed and a nice hot shower and bath. We visited Paris before, but never have used the bus. Bus 69 stops in front of the house and brings you to all Paris' highlights as the centre Pompidou, Louvre, Eiffel Tower. But also the metro stops nearby. We loved the street, with the best bakery, 2 supermarkets and lots of take away food, from roasted chicken till Vietnamese bo bun. Quentin and Céline took very good care of our home and cats. When we got back, it was like they've never been here. Highly recommended and worth repeating!
