- Bill Retired (65)
- Laurel Outpost Nurse (58)
Welcome to the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island!
Laurel is an outpost nurse in the western Arctic. Bill is retired from the forestry business. Our 2 children are grown up but accompany us from time to time on holidays. Our black lab, Beatrix, usually goes for a holiday at the kennel for home exchanges.
September 18 — September 20, 2015 These dates are flexible
We love making music with our friends and are working our way through the string instruments. We have yet to be accomplished on anything but enjoy it anyway! We love cooking and exploring food in other cultures. On past home exchanges to Holland we spent a lot of time in Albert Heine grocery stores! We love the rich history of Europe and the home exchange idea of being in a central location and doing day trips to interesting places. We also like to do local weekend exchanges to Vancouver and Victoria to visit family and friends.
We had a wonderful exchange with Laurel and Bill in Ucluelet. First Laurel and Bill have great hospitality and their welcoming was so kind. We loved to discuss with them and their friends were also very nice. Second, their house is very beautiful, we found a charming very cosy and comfortable house, with a wonderful sea view where we feel at home and can relax after all the activities in the area : great hiking in the pacific west trail, great kayaking in the harbor, good restaurants, amazing seaplane excursions, amazing stars in the sky from the hot tub; that was definitively one of the best part of our 7 weeks trip to Pacific north west and all family thank Laurel and Bill for allowing us to do this and for their kindness. Hope we will keep in touch and good luck for Laurel for her new job. Joel, Cecile, Thomas and Julie
