Hello from the Tucson desert!
We are a retired couple who are looking to vacation in new places. We adore the outdoor life in sunny Tucson, and have both lived here all of our adult lives. Jay is a bicyclist and photographer. Gail enjoys volunteering at the Tucson Botanical Gardens. Simultaneous or non-simultaneous exchanges of 5-14 days work well for us. People love to visit Tucson during the Gem and Mineral Show in February or when the desert is in full bloom in April. But summer storms in the desert are also incredible, and our swimming pool and air conditioned house keep things comfortable.
My friends and I spent a fabulous 5 days in Tucson at Gail and Jay's wonderful home. Everything was provided as agreed upon and they went 100% out of their way to be sure we were comfortable and had a great time.Tucson in the fall was beautiful and we had a glorious few days. Their deck is a great place to enjoy the Tucson sky in the evening and we canceled a few restaurant reservations in order to enjoy dinner at home and the view. The home was centrally located for Sabino Canyon, Tombstone, Mt Lemon, Brisbee, San Xavier Mission and various other sights and museums and the pool was an added bonus at the end of the day. I would highly recommend this exchange to anyone interested in the Tucson area.I certainly hope this can work for us both again. Susan # 97600
We had a terrific vacation at Susan's home in Philadelphia...the house is lovely and comfortable and the location is fantastic. We walked to several museums, Boathouse Row and Fairmount Park. Transportation to other parts of Philadelphia is easy by bus or taxi. The neighborhood is attractive with an energetic vibe, and there are numerous restaurants within a few blocks. Susan was a pleasure to communicate with, and she left us lots of information, plus some welcome snacks and breakfast items. We had a great time on this exchange.
Joe and I had a wonderful exchange with Gail and Jay for 4 nights in early December. After a week spent in hotel rooms exploring northern Arizona, it was a welcomed change for our travels. We were comfortable from the minute we arrived! Joe settled into the den to watch TV and I enjoyed reading in the lovely living room. Beds in the two bedrooms are full-size mattresses. Joe and I split up, as we are use to sleeping in king bed. Bathrooms are nicely tiled and modern. Guest room has really cool mid-century modern suite. Master bedroom has classic oak bed from an earlier century. Jay's photography is a real treat. Gail left the refrigerator stocked with goodies for us. The terrace is really special. Views are spectacular. Sunrise and sunset over the mountains. At night the city lights and stars were amazing. There is a covered seating area near the pool, smaller table and chairs, and an open terrace with larger table near the grill. Birds visit the feeder hanging on the palo verde tree. The house is sited in the Catalina Foothills above the city. Very private, but still close to shopping. The neighbors have horses. Greatly appreciate Gail and Jay's sharing of their home with us.
