- Husband Retired professional (2)
Walk to Beach; 30mins Noosa; Exchange wanted in France April-June 2016
Professional couple, and I am recently retired (well I think so!).
After 12 years working in London, we moved to Australia.
We live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, 100 km north of Brisbane.
Our home overlooks the Pacific ocean and local forest.
We seek exchanges in UK and Europe, so we can visit our UK family and friends. For 2013-15 we spent 3-6 months travelling each year. Next year (2016), we would like a long term exchange (3-6 months perhaps). We are also open to 2 weeks almost anywhere in Australia. Car exchange preferred.
We enjoy a change of culture and architecture.
House swapping seems the ideal way to travel, now that we are pretty much retired from working life.
We are also keen on a barge boat or canal boat on the Midi Canal, with my marine licensed husband - or take/return a sail boat from the Med for you or your friends, at open or close of the European summer. The possibilities are endless really!
Our home is 30 mins drive to Noosa Heads or Glasshouse Mountains area.
Brisbane is 100km
Our local airport is 15 mins -- regular daily flights to Sydney take 1 hour
or, 1.5 hours flight to Melbourne. We use this service regularly.
We have enjoyed 2-3 week exchanges in Adelaide, Hunter Valley NSW, Gold Coast, Queensland and London; 6 weeks in Germany and 4 weeks in Hautes Alpes region of France.
We will take very good care of your property. Vehicle exchange is also available. We have a new VW Golf Cabriolet.
February 1 — March 31, 2016
We would love to explore Tasmania, especially Freycinet Peninsula area. Come to us for some warmth at the end of your summer, as you still have active enjoyment of our swimming pool.
June 1 — June 30, 2016 These dates are flexible
Music Music Music and any tips for visiting this area of the States would be welcome.

London offers welcome. We have 3 children that we like to visit in London.
After living in England for so long, we love to engage with European architecture, food and culture.
Thanks to Kerry and Greg for a great exchange. Kerry's name should be "caring Kerry"! Their home is very spacious, airy and full of natural light. The house has views of the Pacific Ocean and lots of greenery around it with a nice swimming pool. They had asked their friends to list "what to do" in Sunshine coast for us. What a great idea! Even when they were out to U.K. they had arranged for bread, milk, wine etc. for our arrival. Their friends Ken and Jenny invited us for mother's day picnic and another time just for wine and cheese picnic at the beach. Wonderful people indeed. The brand new soft top (convertible) VW Golf was the highlight. Alexandra Headlands is between Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, a mere 5 km distance. What a strip! Every beach is beautiful, clean with picnic areas and Surf Clubs with great views, food and drink. From the Alex Headlands the Noosa Heads, Eumundi (best farmer's market) Fraser Island ( day trip) etc. all are within easy driving distance. Don't miss the chance to exchange in Sunshine Coast with Kerry and Greg. Now we are awaiting their visit to our place so we can reciprocate the same warmth and hospitality. Mimi and Pat
Admittedly we are not the typical exchangers. As our daughter lives in Brisbane with her family we landed in Australia for the 16th time, and it was our 8th exchange to the Sunshine Coast. But every exchange is different and we especially want to thank Kerry and Greg for their planning ahead, caring for everything and providing us - apart from the brand new Golf Cabriolet - with wines and all kind of food and household items. Robert, the handyman, was always caring around the pool and garden and could help in any case. As we are very familiar with the area, we did not need any help to explore the country. We enjoyed the view from the balcony, the great beaches, the gorgeous seafood, playing golf, visiting friends and former exchange partners and just felt at home. Looking forward to meeting you when we will be back next time! Anne and Holger
Our exchange for 2 months was just on the outskirts of Freiburg in Feb/March 2015. The apartment has wonderful views from large windows and 3 balconies. There is so much to see within an hour or two drive - we encourage you to consider this region. Many times we visited Alsace region nearby as well as snowy mountainous areas - perfect skiing conditions. The proximity to Switzerland and France had real appeal to us, and enabled us to explore Swiss countryside and some cities, with a skip across the border to France to Colmar and other delightful villages. We enjoyed reading the history of this region too. Ann and Holger provided us with their Mercedes Diesel estate car which gave us confidence when driving in snowy conditions. Having met them a few times now, we can say we really enjoy their company and they are very kind people. The apartment is well appointed, with everything you need. We found access to Freiburg very easy - on the tram, or local buses. We mostly used the tram, parking in a free car park nearby. We went 'Segway' sightseeing too which was fun; visited thermal baths (there are 2 within a 15 minute drive). We also went to Baden Baden, which of course is world famous for hot thermal spa hotels - at the foot of the Altstadt. The annual carnival celebration, 'Fasnet,' was a treat for us, reviving centuries-old tradition (masks, costumes, music and performances in the streets of many nearby villages as well as Freiburg). Everyone was full or humour and happiness. Wonderful wine growing region - we have taken away nice memories of our time here.
