We had a really pleasant and relaxing stay in Armelle ...

We had a really pleasant and relaxing stay in Armelle and Yves’s flat situated close to the city centre of Geneva. We especially enjoyed their detailed and helpful guides to the local area, among other a local grocery shopping guide and a handy guide to the many wonderful play grounds of Geneva – both came in handy when travelling with two kids. On top of that we also used many of their suggestions on what to do and see on day trips outside the city. The tour including all you can eat at the Swiss chocolate factory Cailler (indeed recommended for both adults and children!) and visiting the impressive medieval castle Le Chillon on the Geneva Lake simply took our breath away – wauw! The flat was quiet and nice and the neighbours were friendly and welcoming. The same can be said of Charlie, the cat of the house. She never caused any problems, she kept herself to herself. Yves, Armelle and their two daughters were truly kind and freindly and treated our home and cats with great care and respect. We can only give this exchange our warmest recommendations.

It has been our third exchange, and I can say ...

Nico from Castelldefels said

It has been our third exchange, and I can say that for the moment, it has been our best home exchange experience, thank you Yves!! It was very easy to decide to go for the exchange; we quickly realized that Yves is a friendly person. He helped us to solve all our doubts before the exchange, he offered us a very useful guide of their home and city! We took with us our own tourist guide books, but we didn’t use them at all! It was better to trust on Yves family recommendations... thank you for such a handy guide! Their home was a very nice place; we were a little bit afraid of going to a "only" two room flat. But it was so big, so spacious... we felt very comfortable there! Our children loved Clementine and Emilie room! They have a lovely and charming home! The flat it is located in a very quiet street, close to some very nice playgrounds. Their neighbours were also very friendly with us, they gave us a hand when we asked for it! Thank you! We also had the chance to use their bikes. We found it was the best way to visit the city. We even used a bike trailer to carry our children... they loved it! Thanks to the bikes we could move around very easily, reaching every amenity in Geneva within 15min. Thank you for offering us this way to do sightseeing! We find out that Geneva is a very child friendly city. There are lots of interesting playgrounds, which include paddles, it is very nice to discover how people enjoy the water, kids also love it! So we had to take their swimming clothes every day. If we have to mention something we did not like from our experience... We would say that it was the prices of everything! Switzerland has been too expensive for us (Spanish family). But again, we have to thank you Yves family, as they provided us a welcome basket with lots of products from Switzerland, so thank you again for your hospitality! Regarding our home, Yves family took care of our belongings. Everything was in the same condition that we leave them. Clean and tidy. They are a trustful family. Thank you for taking care of our place! So, to summarize our experience, we can say that we would like to repeat an exchange with them it in the future! Thank you Yves, Armelle, Clementine, and Emilie!
