- Carol retired (1)
We have enjoyed six 4-week foreign exchanges and shorter ones in the U.S.
Carol is a retired social worker whose career was largely in health care settings in Chicago and Washington, DC. Bill is a retired economics professor whose career involved stints at a Washington, DC think tank, 2 small colleges, and a large university. Both of us have trouble understanding how we managed to raise children and hold jobs because, with those in the past, we still seem never to have enough time for the things we want to do. Among those are hiking, gardening, attending movies, theatre, and concerts, writing, photographing, traveling, reading....and doing much at the computer. We have a TV and DVD but find them little used given competing pleasures. We routinely enjoy all of the neighborhood "features" described elsewhere in this listing. Lectures, concerts, theater, movies, and dining in San Francisco and Berkeley attract us often. We will provide guidance to finding those pleasures to folks who stay in our home.

We love NYC in all seasons and think New Yorkers would enjoy Mill Valley at all times of year.
February 1 — September 30, 2015
We prefer simultaneous exchanges, believe most would enjoy Mill Valley at all times of year and know we would like London in all seasons.
We enjoy a broad range of sites, activities, media,...... you watch us and decide whether our enjoyment level meets the HomeExchange's category "passionate".
We visited this beautful home in July/August 2009 and enjoyed a wonderful vacation exploring this part of California. The home setting is perfect amidst Redwoods in delightful Mill Valley with San Francisco only 30 minutes away. Communication with the owners was excellent from the start and throughout and the neighbours were so friendly and welcoming. This was our first home exchange and we could not have asked for better.
This lovely and petite home in Salisbury could not be better equipped or situated for a fine stay in Wiltshire. It is only a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants, Salisbury cathedral, and other in-town pleasures. Fine gardens and homes including Wilton House and Stourhead as well as the historic sites of Avebury and Stonehenge are within easy drives while country walks abound in the area. Owners were excellent in communicating and left our home in as good condition as they found it and as they keep their impeccable and neat home.
