November 1 — November 8, 2015 These dates are flexible
We love outdoor activities, especially in mountains, rivers and lakes. We prefer to travel by train and get around on bicycles. So good bikingarea is also attractive. We enjoy living in a big city and we like to explore other cities on short trips or as in betweens on a long holliday.
Steyn and Liesbet and their two children were wonderful guests in our home and made us feel very welcome in their home also. Their children are very well behaved and Steyn and Liesbet took excellent care of our place. Their home is spacious with a very large back yard with a great view of the Atomium and Japanese Tower. Public transportation was only one block away and it is a very quick trip into the heart of Brussels by tram. They gave us lots of information about Brussels and Belgium, plus maps and a transportation schedule, we really used them a lot! We would recommend an exchange with this family to anyone, especially anyone with children, their home is welcoming and comfortable and Steyn and Liesbet are friendly and respectful home exchangers.
We had a great experience in Steyn and Liesbets charming house in march 2010. We are a family of four, and it is very nice to stay in a family house with all equipment for baby and child. Brussel was a wonderful town with lots to do for the whole family, and Liesbet and Steyn had done everything possible ti make our stay as pleasant as possible with guidebooks, maps, ideas to what to do for everybody - and even a nice bottle of wine as a welcoming present. The surroundings of the house was great to everybody, and the kids had a lot of fun taking care of the very sweet and wellbehaved cat, who also live in the house. To mention a couple of great places in Brussels, we visited Atomium, which is a large sculpture, that you can walk inside - very fun and gives you a good view of the city. The Magritte excibition was nice - an dok for kids too. Though the large dinosaur excibition at the Royal Natural Science Museum was a greater hit with the kids. Oceade is a large aquapark with great shootes and hours of wet fun, and of course Grand Place ws as impressing as we hoped it to be. We also went to see the area around the European Parliament, which is very beautiful and with interesting architecture. To us Brussels is now Little Paris. We do not hope that the Belgians will be offended, but for us the city has so many of the charming qualities of Paris - so to us it is a compliment. We are very greatful for Liesbet and Steyns great hospitality, and hope that our next exchange will be just as good an experience. Henriette, Anders, Rebekka and Svante
