After finishing high school in Paris at Cours du Sacre Coeur, Mirey studied Art History in Rome for 6 months. She has worked in publishing and Public Relations, creating her own PR company, M3 Public Relations. She decided to retire from PR in and travel the world in 2007, and become a Home Exchange member, and in 2009 she became the representative for Turkey. Mirey lives in Istanbul and still writes as a freelance journalist for newspapers and magazines in Turkey, contributing travel articles and exclusive interviews. She has done 15 Home Exchanges and believes it has changed her life. She can’t even imagine traveling any other way! In her spare time, she likes to cook for friends, go to the cinema, and exercise.
Italy, Spain, Buenos Aires, France, Australia, San Miguel de Allende, Bali
Between the 15 home exchanges I have made my favorite was San Miguel de Allende. The town itself was very colorful and charming and the house I stayed was a dream house, so nicely decorated and comfortable. Plus we had a cook and a cleaning lady included in the exchange!
Mirey exchanged to a villa in Avignon for three weeks in 2008. She had studied in Aix en Provence 30 years prior, and it was a wonderful opportunity to reunite with old friends. Some had become grandparents, some divorced, some still married, but it was a joy to see them all again.
I love Home Exchange because I have a home every where in the world. And also because of the trust and respect we have towards each other even without meeting.
