Was Sie an dieser Unterkunft lieben werden

Our holiday beach house is a simple home made up of two buildings. The main building has a large open plan kitchen, living room and dining room with wooden bifold doors which open up on three sides onto a wooden deck. The front deck has a built in seat and so the dining table can be moved outside for al fresco dining. There is a high ceiling, wooden louvres form the windows with crimsafe netting on these windows and also up high in the roof gable. All of these factors allow optimum ventilation which can be supplemented by the ceiling fans in the summer months. You can also hear the ocean waves and insects or creatures of the night. There is a bathroom with separate toilet, a rainfall shower and a vanity. Off the bathroom is a bedroom with one single bed and a set of bunks. The 'swizzle' sofa in the living room can spin around as seats, be locked off as a couch or convert to two firm single beds or one double. Possibly extra sleeping for more children. An additional single daybed, with a lift up trundler bed underneath, is located in the living room. These beds can be placed together to make a double if there are young children and so parents want to sleep in the same building. Alternatively one or two of the trundler beds can be placed in the cottage building and so all family members can once again sleep in the same building. As you see there are many possible bed configurations. The cottage has a double bed and the same style of wooden louvres and bifold doors opening out onto a deck. There is a storage space with a hanging rail and shelves and then you step down into the tiled and curved, coral walled bathroom. This screened bathroom has excellent ventilation and a shower, toilet and vanity. Behind the house is an expansive garden with many fruit trees and flowers. My favourite being the traveler palms.

Our holiday home is located in Ranch de la Colle, a friendly neighbourhood 6.5km from the centre of Port Vila. The estate has several large mango trees and there are numerous pawpaw, passionfruit and pineapples in our garden. Walking approximately 100m down to the beach you can then walk in either direction. Local fishermen set their nets a couple of times each day and there are 2 rivers closeby. It is therefore possible to swim in the sea and then rinse off in the fresh river water. If you walk to the west you head past the Port Vila Country Club golf course towards The Beach Bar. You can catch the ferry across to Hideaway Island for excellent snorkeling or enjoy the many activities that The Beach Bar has to offer: movie night; fabulous Friday fire show; sunset circus; inflatable water toys; local band on a Sunday afternoon. Heading further afield, past The Beach Bar and Mele Village you can then visit Mele Cascades or continue on the around the island road towards Havannah. Alternatively you can head down Devils Point Road to find Tanna Coffee and then further along to Wet and Wild, the Summit Gardens and the Jungle Zipline. For a more built up, bustling experience catch a local bus at the estate gateway and head into Port Vila. You will pass Wan Smol Bag which is an awesome theatre and youth centre. Even though the performances are in Bislama, a visit to the theatre is extremely worthwhile. Once in town you will find the market and numerous bars, restaurants and other activities.
