Our warm and welcoming home is great for dinner parties or just sitting with a book by the fire while watching the birds swoop over the water. When we did a major renovation a few years back, we focused on maintaining a cottage-like feel to our home. There is a large kitchen, a dining room, and living room with a electric keyboard. The primary bedroom, on the main floor, is very spacious. It is equipped with a queen bed and a small vanity with a sink. The main bathroom, with a shower, is next to that bedroom. There is also an office on the main floor. A media room on the upper floor is equipped with a television, Oculus, and Wii, as well as board games, books, and craft supplies for all ages. It also has a lovely ocean view. Inflatable single and double mattresses offer extra sleeping space. The upper floor also has a cozy guest room with a double bed tucked under the eaves. NOTE: During 2022, we are exchanging the top two floors of the house only, which consists of one bathroom, two bedrooms, and additional space for our two inflatable mattresses in the media room. there is a slight possibility that we may need to return to Port Moody on short notice. In that case, we would occupy the lower floor while guests are staying in the main part of the house. On the lower floor there is another bathroom with a bathtub and shower, a small guest room, a second large family room that doubles as a ping-pong room, which also has a hide-a-bed, and a separate private entrance. There is also laundry on the lower floor that will be available to guests whether we're home or not. The housekeeper comes every second week for light cleaning.

The area near our home is very inviting. There are walking paths around the inlet, several restaurants and two coffee shops, including a neighbourhood pub, as well as grocery shops, recreation facilities, including free public tennis courts, and a library all within two or three blocks of our home. There are also three playgrounds and two beaches nearby. Six craft breweries and a distillery have opened over the past few years. They're mostly along one strip, across from an oceanside park, about a half-hour walk around the inlet. There are three ski areas within an hour of our home, and Whistler, home of the 2010 Olympics, is about two hours away. The West Coast Express commuter rail will have you in downtown Vancouver in under 25 minutes, or drive there in about 45 minutes. The Skytrain to Port Moody, a six block walk from our house, also travels to Vancouver. For all public transportation options, look up Translink online. Port Moody is also known as City of the Arts. During the summer there are many festivals and free outdoor concerts all within an easy walk. The view out of windows is the Burrard Inlet, the most easterly point of the Pacific Ocean in this region. At low tide it becomes mudflats; at hight tide, it is a calm, sparkling body of water. Drive fifteen minutes up the road to mountain lakes, with many grand hiking trails, or spend the evening in downtown Vancouver at the theatre or visiting galleries or Granville Island.
