New Zealand
The Home
Our home is a charming 3 façades house, full of light, with a completely private garden. The house has four bedrooms, all located upstairs. The fully equipped kitchen and dining room are downstairs, with a mezzanine that gives a nice light to the dining room. The living room and study are located on the intermediate level. There is a cable television with DVD in the living room. Or you may prefer looking at the nice relaxing aquarium… In the study you’ll find the computer, with access to Internet as well as 2 book-cases with books in French, including lots of comics, a Belgian specificity… and a huge book-case for my husband’s medical books. The 4 bedrooms are on the top level. They are pretty small but so nice and charming. The major bathroom is located close to the master bedroom. There is also a shower between two other bedrooms, n°2 and n°4. There are currently 2 baby beds in the bedroom n°2, which we intend to change to superposed beds in 2008, a 2 person’s bed in bedroom n°3 and a convertible couch in bedroom n°4, which is for the time being used as a playroom.
You may see it on the pictures: there are vivid colors everywhere !
The garden is completely private, with a large table that can seat ten, perfect to enjoy summer evenings. You really don’t feel like being so close to a major capital city.

The Neighborhood
We live in Wezembeek-Oppem, a nice and very beautiful suburb on the Eastern side of Brussels. It’s a village close to the city, which means that it combines the green aspects of the countryside with the proximity of everything a big city can provide. Shops, restaurants, you can find everything here in Wezembeek, and if you feel like having more choice, going to great shops, delightful restaurants, just may just take the car, the subway or the taxi and reach the centre of Brussels within a few minutes...
Brussels is in the heart of Belgium, not far away from Antwerp, famous for his diamonds and very special designers, or other sightseeing sites, like Bruges or the Waterloo battlefield for example!
But we are also located in the heart of Europe. So, after having visited Brussels and Belgium, you could take the opportunity to visit Paris (only one and half hour by train from Brussels !), Amsterdam, Luxemburg, or Cologne. London is also easily accessible. It’s the advantage of a small country : everything is close !
The country is trilingual with Belgians speaking French, Dutch or German. But most of the people also speak English, especially in Brussels. The neighbours are great, so if you need explanations please do not hesitate to ask. We also have French, German, Dutch or English speaking friends who could be ready to help if they are present in Belgium when you come by…
