We are looking to travel to (Open to any destination):
My primary focus is locating a home(s) for us to stay in durng the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver/Whistler, BC, Canada for the dates of 2/13-27/2010. If you are interested in our home and don't live in Vancouver/Whistler area, please contact us.
I would be interested in a possible 3 way trade. If you have a home in the Vancouver/Whistler, BC, Canada area that you would be willing to trade for the dates of the Olympics (February, 2010) but you are either not interested in a concurrent trade or in trading for any of my homes (Coeur d'Alene, ID; Minneapolis, MN or Brainerd (Lakes resort area), MN, I would like to understand what you are looking for and if I could meet your needs by arranging a trade with a third party that would have a home where/when you want to travel.
Additionally, if you have a second home in Whistler/Vancouver and would consider an Olympic Trade, I could probably make any of my homes available for trade at any time of the year, either before or after the Olympics. I would also consider breaking up the weeks and locations in to some combination if that would suit your needs.
If you have a home in the south, southern CA or the Islands (Hawaii, Fiji, the Caribbean . . .) and would like to exchange for our ID home and you would consider a 3 way trade, I would like to try to find a Vancouver Exchanger that would like to stay in your "warm weather" home in exchange for us staying in their Vancouve "Olympic" home and your staying in our ID home. We can be very flexible.

The Home
Lake Coeur d'Alene in gorgeous north Idaho was once described in National Geographic Magazine as "one of the five most scenic alpine lakes in the world"! It may have been thirty or more years since NGM said that of Lake Cd'A, but there haven't been any more Alpine lakes built since then. Our home (in a gated community) is on the south shore of the main lake looking across at the Coeur d"Alene Resort Golf Course and the only floating Green in the world (see pictures). We have panoramic views of the lake and mountains from every room in our home. There is excellent mountain skiing nearby at Schweitzer Mountain and Silver Mountain (http://www.silvermt.com/ or http://www.schweitzer.com/). We are 4 hrs from Glacier National Park and 6-7 hours from Yellowstone National Park. Idaho has more nationally designated "Wilderness Area" than any state other than Alaska. The beauty of this area and climate are unmatched in any mountain, alpine setting.
This is a home planned and built (2007) for a family. We have bed sleeping (2 Kings, 1 Queen and 3 Twins) for nine and comfortable alternatives for more. We are not encouraging a large "crowd", but we are open to discussing your needs. We have a comfortable Family Room and Home Theatre with 3 large, leather Sofas and a good selection of DVDs and VHS movies to watch on our projection screen (9-10' diagonal) with Surround Sound.
Our home is just off the state highway on a paved street, so access is easy and convenient, 8 miles from the Interstate (I90). We can arrange for the use of a Chevrolet Suburban and various water toys and a canoe.
Our home is open to either concurrent trade or nonconcurrent trade. Particularly for a trade during the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver/Whistler, we are open to any reasonable alternatives. We also have a lovely, large suburban Townhome in suburban, Minneapolis (near the Mall of America) and another Lake Home in the Brainerd Lakes area of northern Minnesota that could be considered for trade.

The Neighborhood
Our neighborhood includes the entire region of North Idaho. This is a magical place of rugged mountains and awesome, alpine lakes. (That's using awesome in the classic sense of something so spectacular it inspires "awe"!). We have the cosmopolitan benefits of the town of Coeur d'Alene (4 miles by boat / 15 miles by car) and Spokane, WA (48 miles by car - less than an hour to the airport), while we enjoy the pristine benefits of of a private and serene mountain environment. There are great restaurants on the lake and on the way to and in Coeur d'Alene. The Coeur d'Alene Resort is a world class facility ( http://www.cdaresort.com/ ) across the lake offering dining from casual to gourmet and recreation of all types including Golf at the spectacular Resort Course. The lake itself is a clear, sparkling blue, diamond set in an emerald setting. You can count the stones on the bottom to a depth 15-20 feet (think Gin clear). It is great to look at but even better to play in and on!
The Map above is pretty worthless.
Where's our home? Go to the website below. When there, don't move the map, that's our neighborhood, Spokane to the left and the town of Coeur d'Alene (center) at the NW end of the lake. This map has some fun options. Click on the "MORE" box at the top of the map, click in the little boxes for "Photos" and "Wikipedia". Just return to the map. You will now have a lot of little boxes on the map. If you click on them, you will see pictures of the area or receive information (the boxes with a "W" in them). If you carefully click on the (plus sign) on the top of the bar (thermometer looking thing) on the left margin, you will zoom right down on our location. The last click that still shows a picture, shows a gap between two docks on the lake. This picture is over two years old. Our dock is now in the center of that gap and our house is above it. The lot to the right remains vacant although it has a dock. The lot/dock to the left of ours also has a new lovely home on it. If it gets messed up, just close the window and copy/paste the URL below into your browser window and start over. Don't "drag" on the map - that moves it. Don't click on the compass rose (4 pointed star thing) at the upper left - that also moves the map. Email me if you have questions. Have fun exploring our little piece of paradise!!

2010 Olympics. Our daughter is a 2006, USA Olympian training hard for the 2010 Olympics. We want to secure good housing for our adult family and perhaps a few friends.
We are open to other trades, particularly in the alpine regions of Europe during the Womens Alpine World Cup season.
Please see the comments above.

The People
A very experienced and helpful "Exchanger" recommended I tell you more about our quest to find a home(s) in Vancouver/Whistler, BC, Canada for the 2010 Olympics. So, I've added more pictures and information about our family and particularly our daughter, Kaylin, a 2006 Olympian who intends to represent the USA in 2010. We all (not Santa and Albert - see pictures) want to be there to see her compete and to experience the Olympics. Hence, the self-indulgent pictures.
Our daughter is a 2006 Olympian and 3 time US National Champion representing the USA in alpine ski racing. She is training for the 2008-09 season with the intent of qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver/Whistler. We are looking for a home or homes for the term of the Olympics (2/13-27/2010) in Whistler and/or Vancouver that could accomodate 5 of us (all adults) and perhaps some of our extended family.
For any other trades than the Olympics in BC, Canada, we would likely be my wife and me.
Linda is a retired teacher and homemaker and I recently retired from the mortgage business and I am now considering entering the non-profit world. We, and our family and friends, are non-smokers and have no pets. Linda and I (with our kids - now grown) have traveled through Europe, the Middle East and extensively in the US. Linda and I have also traveled in Asia. We love to travel and can't think of many places we wouldn't want to visit.
Please contact us with any opportunity, but especially for the 2010 Olympics!
