THE BEST OF BUENOS AIRES! Walk to 5-star dining, world-class shopping, art galleries, museums, theatres, parks!

Classic French-style architecture - 1944 building with stunning French balconies on one of the best corners in Buenos Aires! Sweeping views of tree-lined streets in the charming upscale Recoleta neighborhood. The best hotels and shopping are all within blocks of our home. Walk to the best restaurants in the city, designer boutiques and Patio Bullrich, the most exclusive mall in the city, a mere two blocks away!

Elegant French-traditional residence completely redesigned and renovated by a prominent local architect with private elevator and entrance directly into the apartment. Separate service elevator entrance off the kitchen for deliveries and service personnel. Portero building with seven total residences and an antique gallery storefront on the main level. Stunning architecture with high ceilings and original crown molding, double doors open to French balconies displaying sweeping views of the streetscape. A luminous and spacious home with floor to ceiling windows and stylish furnishings and antiques. Grand hallway leads to two spacious bedrooms both with en-suite baths. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, flat screen TV, and a private “escritorio” (office) off the main suite for reading and writing. A half bath is located near the entrance off the foyer for guests.

Chef’s European-style kitchen is fully equipped with dinner service for eight and an additional formal service for twelve. Granite countertops, gas stove top, oven, microwave, refrigerator with icemaker and water dispenser, dishwasher, wine cooler, and a center island with bar stools--perfect for enjoying your morning café while watching the news on the flat screen TV. A maid’s room and bathroom off the kitchen includes a laundry room with top of the line washer and dryer. Housekeeping service is available during your stay.

Formal living and dining rooms with incredible views – open the French doors and take in the beautiful views on French balconies overlooking our charming neighborhood.

The Library is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a movie in front of one of three flat-screen LED TV’s in the home--full cable package includes Spanish as well as English, French, Chilean, Italian and German channels with local and international stations, many with U.S. television programming in addition to a DVD player with a selection of classics and nearby movie rental is also available. Our Neighborhood

Our beautiful neighborhood is surrounded by the top hotels, restaurants and shopping in the city. Museums, beautiful parks and bike paths are all within blocks away. Take an evening stroll past the Vatican Embassy, five-star hotels including the Park Hyatt, the Four Seasons, and the world-famous Alvear Palace Hotel. Dine at outdoor cafes, enjoy a mouth-watering Argentine steak at a nearby parilla (steakhouse) and countless fine-dining options including FERVOR, rated one of the top 100 restaurants in the world and one of the best seafood options in the city and steps from our front door! There is something on each corner of our intersection including drycleaners, a bank with ATM cash machine, a pharmacy and bakery. Grocery stores, hair salons and spas, specialty markets and produce stores are all within blocks of our front door. Almost anything can be delivered including groceries and even a cup of café! The people of Buenos Aires, more commonly referred to as “Porteños, are some of the warmest, kindest people you will ever meet.

Taxis are plentiful, inexpensive and can be accessed right outside the front door of our building to take you to places such as the Teatro Colon, known as one of the top opera houses in the world or to the theatre district on Avenida Corrientes to see a Broadway or Tango show. Take in the neighborhood and all it has to offer – stroll – there are embassies and stunning French architecture – the Vatican Embassy is one of my favorites and is two blocks away. Recoleta Cemetery, the burial site of Eva Perone, is two blocks away as is Buenos Aires Design, with designer furniture, shopping and outdoor dining with spectacular views. The Retiro train station is a fifteen minute walk or short cab ride (about $2.50 USD). From there, you can access the Mitre line to the Coastal train which makes eleven stops through the upscale northern suburbs along the Rio de la Plata. Take the train to the end of the line and explore the Tigre delta on various boat tours or enjoy lunch along the waterfront.

Cruise ships frequent the nearby port as well as the “Buquebus”, a series of high-speed hydrofoil boat that transports passengers across the Rio de la Plata (the widest river in the world) to nearby Uruguay for fun day trips to the historic town of Colonia (one hour), Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay (3 hours), or Punta del Este (5 hours partly by bus) known as the South American Riviera.

“Collectivos” (local city buses) are numerous with an extensive system as is the extensive subte (subway) system. Both are ridiculously inexpensive at about $1.25 Argentine pesos per trip which is less than 30 cents (U.S.). Area maps, bus schedules, and guide books available for your use during your stay.

The Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) is approximately one hour away and receives international flights. Jorge Newbery National Airport (AEP) is in town and a short cab ride away. Newbery receives flights from other Argentine cities as well as cities throughout South America. Its close proximity makes it ideal for exploring other parts of Argentina and South America such as Iguazu Falls, Salta, Cordoba, Bariloche, Patagonia, Mendoza (Argentina’s wine country) and even Santiago, Chile.

About Us

View Feedback About My Exchanges

My husband and I have recently retired to Buenos Aires from the U.S. in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida area where we still maintain a residence. Our children are grown and live out of state. Traveling is one of our favorite activities, but we also enjoy great food and wine. We are both active and love to walk and explore our beautiful city. I take Pilates classes several days a week and my husband jogs through the parks daily. We enjoy walking to our favorite restaurants and visiting with friends. We love to relax and unwind at home or outdoors at the local cafes while reading a book, enjoying a glass of wine and perhaps a cigar at the cigar bar on the corner. I love to cook and enjoy exploring neighborhood markets for local ingredients and fresh produce. We also enjoy the numerous music venues in the area offering performances from jazz to classical to folk and rock.
