Our Home
This small, attractive, English-style house has been remodeled recently. The house is beautifully landscaped and nestles between private front and rear gardens. There is a detached office/apartment that shares the rear garden.
Both gardens include areas to sit/sunbathe, and the rear garden has a 4-person hot tub. The house can accommodate four adults, although they must share a single bathroom.
The house is comfortably furnished, centrally heated, and includes satellite television and WIFI. One car may be available as well as two bicycles.

Our Neighborhood
Our home is located in a residential neighborhood near the crossing of two major thoroughfares on L.A.’s west side, Lincoln Blvd and Washington Blvd. Our street can’t be
called secluded, but it’s mostly quiet, and it’s location is what makes it especially good for the traveler.
There is a lot to do locally—we’re within walking distance of many fine restaurants serving Thai, Indian, Mexican and American foods; various boutiques, movie theaters, and the acclaimed Pacific Resident Theater, plus supermarkets, pharmacies and cleaners. Our guests are always pleased to learn they are a 20 minute walk (10 minute cycle) from the boardwalk at Venice Beach.
While the idiosyncracies of the Venice boardwalk are justly famous, we also relish the broad, sandy beaches of Venice, and of its neighbor, Santa Monica. All three are within an easy walk (and two bicycles are available). Several movie theaters are within a short drive; almost any movie you might want is reachable within 30 mins.
From Lincoln & Washington, you can catch buses to Santa Monica, Malibu, the Getty Museum, Beverly Hills, LAX, and downtown Los Angeles. Going further afield requires driving. You can reach the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the La Brea Tar Pits or Hollywood in 30 minutes; Universal City, Pasadena or East LA in 40 minutes; and Disneyland in an hour. Two hours driving gets you to mountain trails and ski slopes, or to San Diego and Mexico (allow a couple of hours to return through customs!).

About Us
We are an active retired couple, 71 & 76. We enjoy getting out to see and experience new places and new cultures. Our interests include theater, film, music, art, and history. We are avid readers (our house contains many books).
Julia is an anthropologist and consults as a researcher in the health care industry. She’s also a gardener and is experimenting with backyard food production. Depending on the time of the year, there might be crops to pick and eat! Robert is a filmmaker and has always been interested in other cultures and languages and, especially, new cuisines. Our eldest son lives close by; he knows how everything in the house works and can fix almost anything, and our neighbors are friendly and helpful.
