Our cozy brick home was built in 1948 by my grandfather. The family used it as a vacation home for many years. Now we live in it full time. Remodeled in 2004, the lower level has a living room with a fireplace, 3/4 bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom is on the upper level with a queen bed. The living room has a queen-size futon and a twin-size futon. Outside we have a deck and a summer vegetable garden. We have a friendly cat named Thomas and 4 egg-laying hens. For your enjoyment of the outdoors, we have to offer a 14 foot sailboat, mountain bikes, downhill and cross-country skis, sleds and snowshoes.

Green Valley Lake is a small resort town in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains, with sunny skies 300 days per year. Visitors come to these mountains to play in the snow in winter, where the temperatures average 40-60°F (4-15°C). In summer, where the temperatures average 70-80°F (21-27°C), visitors hike, swim, boat, bike, fish, rock climb, star-gaze and just relax.

About 400 full-time residents live in Green Valley Lake, which is 7000 feet (2100 meters) high and surrounded by National Forest. There are 2 restaurants, 2 convenience stores, a post office and real estate offices within walking distance.

A twenty-minute drive will take you to the nearest ski resort, with downhill and cross-country skiing in winter and mountain biking in summer. A thirty-minute drive will take you to the larger mountain towns of Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead. These towns have restaurants, movie theaters, shopping, golfing, lake activities, forest activities and more.

We are an active couple in our 30's & 40's, who added another adventure traveller to the family in June 2011. We love the outdoors and that's why we live, work and play in these mountains. Carl's hobbies include mountaineering, rock climbing and back country skiing. Shilene enjoys hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and swing dancing. Silvana likes to laugh and play in the dirt. We work/worked with 10-12 year olds at an Outdoor Science School. Shilene is a California native and Carl grew up in Michigan. We speak a little French and German.
