Our Home
Our home is located on a tree-lined, pedestrian street in the middle of a city originally settled by the Romans. It is one of six old-style apartments in a large building constructed in the 1920s. Large (by Spanish standards: 170 square meters--approximately 1,800 sq. ft.), spacious, sunny, and practical, it has parquet and 12-foot ceilings throughout. Three large bedrooms comfortably sleep five. It has two-and-a-half bathrooms, modern kitchen, breakfast nook, living room, dining room, two offices, and a 120 square meter terrace/garden with BBQ.

Our Neighborhood
People live outdoors in Spain, especially in summer, and we are located on a quiet pedestrian street in the heart of the city, dozens of shops, restaurants, cafés, and bars within two-minutes' walk of our door. Have your morning expresso at an outdoor café across the street, where you can read, relax, and plan your day. In the evening, eat tapas, drink a beer or glass of wine, and people-watch at any of a number of like cafés and bars nearby, or take a short ten-minute walk to the beach to sit and walk beside the Mediterranean Sea, enjoying a discrete number of restaurants and tapas bars, all full of music and life. We are 25 minutes from Barcelona by car, train, or bus; 30 minutes from the famous Costa Brava; 60 minutes from the Pyrennes Mountains; and a little over one hour from France.

Our Dates
Unfortunately, we are limited by our work schedule to exchanges from late July to mid August.
Our Destinations
We are a family of four looking for an exchange in San Francisco, preferably with a yard and within walking distance of cafés and restaurants. An exchange of cars is likewise preferred.
About Us
My wife (Roser) and I (Ernie) have two boys (McKinley & Dexter) who will be 13 and 14 this summer. We own and operate an English language school in the center of town (www.baimataro.com has more details about Mataró) and enjoy reading, sightseeing, dining, and walking. I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area but have lived in Spain for 30 years. We are experienced exchangers, having previously done so in California, Washington, and Maine. We speak English, Spanish, & Catalan.
