Famous Albert Cuyp market in City Center, less famous but locally loved Dappermarkt a 5 mins. walk away.
Lots of cafés and restaurants close by. Special treat: small beer brewery Het IJ at the foot of the windmill with very tasty heavy beers.
Truly one of the most desireable downtown neighbourhoods!

Travelling in the Netherlands by public transport is dead easy. All distances in Holland are very small. From Amsterdam Central Station, most interesting cities are only 1 hour away. Utrecht, The Hague, Alkmaar, Delft, Gouda, Haarlem, Rotterdam etc. are very accessible. This is one of the real advantages of a very small country.

About Us

View Feedback About My Exchanges

Hello! We are Sieneke and Rob.
Sieneke is a 51-y.o. writer/ writing consultant/ editor. Rob, 60-y.o, is a social worker/probation officer and mediator. We live together without kids or pets, but with some nice and quiet plants.
We are interested in art, architecture and design, literature, music, film, cities, running, walking, cycling and travelling. We are both amateur musicians: Sieneke plays the cello, Rob is a bass player in a rock band. Rob is a long distance runner, Sieneke likes to ice skate. Also, we both like to paint, although we're so often short of time... Friends and family come first.

We are looking forward to trying a home exchange; we are always respectful of the property of others and treat our guest adresses as our own house, which we keep clean and relatively tidy ;-) .
We have had echanges in Canada (2), New York, Paris, Helsinki, Leeuwarden, Maastricht. Our guests/hosts have always been very happy with us as hosts/guests.
