My home is located in historic, Old Town Alexandria, only miles from the heart of Washington, D.C. and two blocks from the hub of Old Town. Old Town is a beautiful section of Alexandria. It sits on the Potomac River and includes hundreds of restaurants and shops. There's always something going on here. Parades go right past my house and sometimes, I notice "ghost tours" being conducted outside my front gate. Many of the streets are cobblestones and the trees adorned with white lights. It's also a very active town. You always see people riding bikes (beautiful bike path minutes away), rollerblading, running, walking dogs (VERY dog friendly), etc. And of course, the outdoor patios of area restaurants are typically bustling with people.

My house was built in 1810. It's a small house that sits back off the street and is surrounded by a brick wall with a black gate. It's quite charming. The first floor includes the kitchen, DR and a nice LR with fireplace, stereo and flat screen TV. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a single bed, and a small bath.

The back has a nice patio set, gas grill, and lots of flowering plants and herbs.
I exchanged with a couple from California years ago and I've rented it short-term many, many times. Renters have always loved it!

I also have a beach house in Duck, NC that I could offer during the off season (any time other than June/July/August.

I am a single female, well educated, and I love to travel. I've been all over Europe, some parts of Asia, Mexico and Canada, and the islands, of course. I attended summer school in Paris.

I have an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I will place him elsewhere during an exchange, unless of course I can drive to your home and you don't mind a small pup.

I might travel alone or bring along a friend. Never more than 2 in my party. I am really only interested in urban areas or being close by. Also prefer coastal but you never know. I am open.
