House was built in 1940 and is situated in the attractive neighbourhood called Nordberg. The house is approximately 300 sq meters of living space and is a sought-after original "funkis" building, and was extensively restored in 2006. It is surrounded by a private garden with mature fruit trees and bushes. There are 4 bedrooms on the upper floor, a master bedroom has a terrace with view of the Oslo fjord and downtown Oslo. On the basement level is a large kids den with plasma TV, XBox, Wii etc....

This is the perfect house for city lovers who also want to experience nature at its most spectacular. Our house is an 8 minute walk from a beautiful large freshwater lake (Sognsvann) and thousands of acres of forest. In winter we are a 15 minute drive from Tryvann ski centre, with a variety of slopes for skiers of all levels.
Despite being so close to nature, this house is also 10 minutes by bus or subway from central and downtown Oslo, with its many attractions; parks, islands, shopping, galleries, bars, restaurants, nightlife.
For the last 6 years running, Oslo has topped the United Nation's list of most desireable places to live. It makes a for a great holiday destination in either summer or winter.

Probably located in or near to an interesting large city with lots of cultural attractions, and some nice scenery.

We are a family of four, and our children are 13 yr old twins (a boy and a girl). I am English and my wife is Norwegian. We returned to live in Oslo after spending the last 10 years living in London. My wife is an interior architect, and I work in the media sector. Our home reflects our interests, with lots of books, media, art and a high standard of interior decoration. We also have two cats, very lo-maintenance but much loved. Please consider whether you are willing to feed and provide water for our cats whilst staying in our house. (They are also able to be kept/fed outside in the summer in case of allergies).
We have travelled a fair bit over the last 15 years, mainly in Europe and the US. Now that our children are getting bigger we'd like to experience some more exotic destinations, but we're also open to shorter breaks.
We have completed 4 very enjoyable home exchanges since 2010; Paris, New York, Bordeaux and Santa Barbara.
