Our Home
This charming 3-bedroom house is part of a planned community created by Levitt & Sons in the early 1960's. A wonderful "great room" was added later, with one wall made of brick (with fireplace/wood stove) and 2 walls with windows that look out on a nicely landscaped yard and a patio with table, chairs and grill. Our pride and joy, however, is what we call "The Library" (others might call it a living room) where we had a cabinetmaker install a wall of handcrafted bookshelves (we are total bibliophiles). In the hall we have a collection of engravings of 18th and 19th century British and American actors. And then there are the autographed baseballs ... my husband is a collector. The dining room is small but comfortable (seats six), and we have an eat-in kitchen. We have an extensive collection of DVDs, mostly classic films.
Our Neighborhood
We live on a lovely tree-lined street. Just a block away is the entrance to a park with hiking and biking trails. Several blocks away is the Belair Mansion and Stables, an 18th century Georgian plantation mansion that is now a museum and on the National Registry of Historic Places. There are several shopping malls within a short distance, and many restaurants. In one direction, you can drive or take a train to Washington, DC, with all of its amazing museums and historic sites. In twenty minutes you can be in historic Annapolis, location of the Naval Academy, and home to many nice shops and restaurants by the harbor. And in 30-40 minutes, you can be in downtown Baltimore, with all it has to offer, from the National Aquarium to several world-class museums. Day trips can also be easily made to a host of Civil War sites (Antietam, Gettysburgh, Manassas). And just over the Bay Bridge lies the Eastern Shore of Maryland with its historic towns along the Chesapeake Bay.

About Us
Ted (62) works for a non-profit progressive think tank in Washington DC. In the past he has worked in public radio and been a theatre producer. He flies kites, loves baseball, and is very interested in the Shakespeare authorship question. Lisa (56) is an actress and playwright who recently finished a PhD in American Studies and now is President/CEO of the Accokeek Foundation, which stewards 200 acres of a national park on the Potomac River that encompasses an outdoor colonial agriculture museum, an organic vegetable farm that trains new farmers, a heritage breed livestock program, and much more. Lisa has toured extensively in two one-woman shows, an adaptation of "Jane Eyre" (80 minutes, 25 characters) and a show about a nursing strike based on oral history interviews ("Nurse!"). She is currently collaborating on a new musical about breast cancer called "Breast in Show."
