Our elegant home is situated on two acres in Basalt, Colorado twenty minutes from the world reknowned ski resort of Aspen/Snowmass. We are walking distance to many fine restaurants, Whole Foods (due to be completed in 2010) market, and shopping. Our home is also just a 200 yard walk to the Roaring Fork River and gold medal fly-fishing.

Our home is a four bedroom, four bath home with a gourmet chef's kitchen and a wonderful indoor/outdoor entertaining area. We also have a caretakers apartment over the garage that is currently occupied by our nanny but may or may not be available depending on the time of year.

We have three daughters so the house is certainly family friendly. We have a play set, trampoline, bikes, toys, etc. that are available for use for those that choose to and the house is certainly stately enough for use from those who do not have children.

We have a community pond that can be used for swimming/rafting/fishing in the summer and ice skating in the winter and a tennis court for those interested in a match.

Aspen is the cultural hub of the Rocky Mountains with world class music, art, lectures and Basalt is a charming town with its own cultural and recreational assets making this area a global destination.

Our neighborhood offers a private feel. Each home is located on two acres and our private tennis court and pond (for fishing and swimming) are wonderful in the summer time. The market, a number of fine restaurants and movie theatre are within walking distance. We live 200 yards from the National Forest border and there is a beautiful mile long, wooded trail along the Roaring Fork River. There is also a bike trail that goes to Aspen and Snowmass near by if you enjoy bicycling/hiking. The art, culture, dining and recreation that Aspen is famous for is only a twenty-five minute drive. You can fly-fish, hike, ski, dogsled, balloon ride, paraglide, mountain bike, raft - see Yo Yo Ma at the Aspen Music Festival, UB40 or Bob Dylan in concert at the Jazz Aspen/Snowmass festivals, listen to George Soros or Margaret Thatcher speak at the Aspen Institute lectures, eat a cheesbuger at the Woody Creek Tavern or foie gras at Pinons, the list goes on and on.

All four seasons are beautiful here so come year round for enjoyment on many levels.

We are an easy going family, outdoors minded and culturally active. We look forward to exchanging with families or individuals who are like minded to explore the world via exchanges.

We are tied to school schedules so our preferred destinations for now are those that would allow you to come to Colorado for a ski holiday or a summer escape and we could go during customary holiday periods. At this time in our life, leaving for more than ten days is typically a challenge except for the month of June.

During the year, Christmas and Spring Break or Thanksgiving could work well for an exchange. Additionally, the month of June is a good one for us to travel.

We are up for just about anything. Our current preferences would be a beach location or Europe, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, or Central or South America including the Carribean.

We are a family of five - Doug, Rebecca and our three daughters aged 10,8,7 as of 2010. Doug is a real estate broker/developer and Rebecca is a mom extraordinaire. We love to ski, hike, bike, fish create art, participate in music, cook and are up for exchanging our home to a like minded family. We love to travel and particularly like the beach and surfing, snorkeling so would enjoy an exchange to a beach locale. We are open to most interesting destinations.
