Our home is a 25 year old west coast style 2 storey. The living room, dining room, large modern gourmet kitchen (with ceramic top stove and quartz countertop) & two piece bathroom are downstairs and two bedrooms with queen and king beds and two bathrooms upstairs. (The house has 3 bedrooms but one is used as a den). The house has hardwood floors and a two car carport. We are 5 minutes drive away from of all major services (grocery store, banks, pharmacy, walk-in medical clinic etc.). A 20 minute drive south takes you to the city of Victoria, named one of the top three travel destinations in the world by Travel Mag, and a 20 minute drive west to hiking in a wilderness park. A ski resort at Mount Washington is only a three-hour drive away. We are surrounded by great golfing year round. We are located on a 1/2 acre property with lots of trees and a stunning view of the ocean and mountains. We are frequently visited by the local deer and have a perfect view of birds amoung the tree tops as the house is set into a rising hillside so that the views from the major windows are of the trees, ocean and the sky instead of other houses during the day and city lights at night. There is an L shaped deck to relax on and take in the view as well as a gas barbecue to enjoy meals on the deck.

Vancouver Island is a large mountainous island just off the west coast of British Columbia. The city of Victoria, located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island has a very moderate climate all year, usually has very little rain in the summer and was named one of the top three travel destinations in the world by Travel Mag - Cruise ships stop here. There are many ocean beaches, which some are populated and others unspoiled. There are excellent opportunities for fishing, sailing, hiking through rain forests, ocean kayaking, lake swimming, golfing at premier golf courses, and miles of paved bike trails. In addition, Victoria offers whale-watching, a vibrant downtown with old-England charm, great restaurants, fascinating museums and a picturesque harbour, a world renowned garden (Butchart Gardens)and all the amenities you would expect from a world-class tourist destination. A 90-minute ferry ride (as foot passengers or by car) will take you to the major metropolis of Vancouver on the mainland of BC; plus there are several small Gulf Islands to explore, also accessible by ferries. Eileen & David are retired senior bankers in our mid 60's. We retired late 2005 from Toronto to our dream home with an ocean view. We are avid outdoors people and enjoy biking, hiking etc as well as having an interest in the cultural aspect of Victoria which offers opera, theatre etc. We are experienced travellers and have visited most of Europe, Australia & Southern Africa.
