Our Home
We offer access to our house built in 2007 in the Stockholm suburb of Huddinge. The house has a 208 square meters (2239 square feet) living area, with the following layout: downstairs - laundry room (washer and dryer), bathroom with sauna, large TV and relax room (with a 46 inch satellite / HD-TV) and two bedrooms. Exit to lower deck.
On the second floor, there's a master bedroom with balcony, a living room with another LCD-TV (40 inch) and a bathroom equipped with a bath tub / jaccuzzi.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen (freezer, refrigerator, fan, stow, micro, dishwasher etc.) and a dining area for up to 12 guests. Exit to upper /sun/ deck.
The adjacent garage also doubles as a storage room.
Internet access is available in all rooms (either using cable or secured WiFi). All floors have hard wood floors with built-in floor heating.
The area, again, is very quiet with no traffic or other disturbing noises. The house is located on a cul-de-sac and overlooks the nearby forest (that leads up to the local sports center featuring tennis courts, track and football fields).
We're open to offering our cars during the exchange (either a Volkswagon Passat Station Wagon automatic, biogas (2010) or a small city car, Suzuki Alto (2009) depending on your requirements) - note: the Suzuki is stick shift only.
We currently have three portable computers and one stational computer (all PC's) on the home network with access to the Internet.
The garage also sports a treadmill alongside our gym in the garage; a brand new Finnish Tunturi state-of-the-art treadmill (up to 22 km/h). There's also a flatscreen with built-in DVD offering most available TV channels for your entertainment available in front of the treadmill.
On the lower level yard, we have a full size Boule court.

Our Neighborhood
Stockholm, of course, is the capital of Sweden and - we like to say - the entire Scandinavia. Stockholm is a vibrant and dynamic city of some 2 million people, beautiful and with a lot of interesting and exciting things to do (all year around). For more information about Stockholm, please visit www.visitsweden.com or www.stockholm.com.
In the summer of 2010 we landscaped the backyard. A feature that we're proud of that we offer a private Boule court! The new backyard requires little to no gardening.

About Us
Our family: Anders (dad), Monica (mom), John (-92) and Otto (-94). Anders is a senior IT consultant and Monica works as a pre-school teacher. Otto attends a special school for hearing impaired children - Otto became deaf after coming down with menginitis when he was 1½ years old. Thanks to a Cochlear Implant, Otto now hears quite well and is starting to talk intelligibly. Sign language is still his first language, but his spoken language is picking up fine. Both John and Otto like to run (long distance and on the track) and have been quite successful over the last couple of years. The whole family is involved in the local Track & Field club - mom and dad as active runners as well as coaches. Between work and training there is little time for other activities, but we enjoy going to the movies, listening to music and - occassionally - going to the theatre. We also like basketball (John plays point guard in a local team). One of our biggest common interests is travelling - so far, the whole family has been to Canada (2004), Africa/ Egypt, the USA several times (California and Colorado 2004, Boston and NYC 2006, Boulder, CO in 2007 and Florida and the Bahamas in 2008 and Florida in 2010) and has been travelling in Europe several times (Holland, Denmark, England, Greece, Austria, Italy and Turkey to mention just some of the countries we've visited). Learning about other cultures and ways is really rewarding and intriguing. Anders has lived in the US as an exchange student and is fluent in English.
