We are in London for a year and have rented a garden apartment in Kentish Town. Our Sydney house is now occupied for the whole year and will be unavailable for the time being. However, we are able to exchange our 3 bedroom London apartment in the meantime. It's not quite up to the standard of our Sydney home, however the incredible location more than makes up for it! We are a 5 minute walk to 2 tube stops Kentish Town or Tufnell Park and a 12 minute walk to the overground at Gospel Oak. There is a bus stop at the end of our road that can take you into the city also. It is a 20 minute walk to Camden Town markets. There are plenty of pubs and cafes within a 5 minute walk.

Information about our Sydney home:

We own a quiet and comfortable home in Cromer which is in Sydneys beautiful Northern Beaches, with easy access to Manly and Sydney CBD. It is a sought after and family orientated part of Sydney. Upstairs we have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with all the mod cons - dishwasher, double oven, large flat screen digital TVs, PS3 and a generous supply of high speed wireless broadband. There is split system air conditioning in the living area.

Downstairs we have separate self contained guest accommodation with a a bedroom, private ensuite, spacious lounge/dining and laundry as well as a small kitchenette. Our guest accommodation has a double bed and 1 single bed, along with large flatscreen TV and internet. If this area is not needed we block it off with our personal items during a long home exchange.

The dining area flows out onto a huge entertaining deck & pool with nice district views and lots of wildlife. We have a BBQ and outdoor 6 seater dining table on the deck and this is where we spend most of our leisure time during summer.

We are situated in a lovely cul-de-sac with kind and helpful neighbours. We enjoy alot of wildlife in our area, with cockatoos, kookaburras and bush turkeys regularly visiting our house.

We will leave you with all the information you need, along with a good bottle of red wine on your arrival!

We prefer no smoking in our home which has been recently renovated with a new kitchen & bathroom. We appreciate people taking care of our home as we will do with theirs.

Our London rental apartment is in North West London - NW5 1UE in Zone 2 which is only 15 minutes to the West End and the centre of London. It is also only a 5 minute tube ride to the Eurostar terminal which takes you to Paris in a few hours.


Sydney information:

Our Sydney house is in Cromer. Tthe home exchange map doesn't have Cromer, so Collaroy, Curl Curl or Manly is the closest. Cromer is a quiet, leafy family friendly suburb and is part of Sydneys beautiful & upmarket Northern Beaches. We live in a small cul-de-sac with friendly neighbours who have always been happy to assist our guests.

It is a 5 minute drive from our house to Dee Why Beach which has 2 ocean pools (kids & adults), great surf & a variety of cafes & restaurants. Dee Why Beach runs for 1.8 kilometres. The beach is backed by Long Reef Reserve and golf course in the north. South of the Lagoon entrance is a relatively natural vegetated sand barrier, part of the Dee Why Lagoon Wildlife Reserve. Our area attracts people who love fresh air, nature and the outdoor life.

It is also a short drive to Manly Beach. From Manly Harbour you can get a ferry into the city. There are also express buses to Sydney Central Business District from our home. It is an easy taxi ride from Sydney airport to our house.

The Northern Beaches starts at Manly and stretches all the way north to Palm Beach.

We have a cleaner that can visit weekly if required. We arrange for the lawns to get cut regularly and the pool is professionally serviced every month.

We are a married couple with a teenage girl & 1 younger son (aged 7). We also have a grown Son who is working full time in London and may not be available to accompany us. Hubbie is English and I am Australian. Hubbie has the opportunity to work in London for a year and so we are renting in London for a while.

We have no pets of our own due to our regular travelling and we are non-smokers. However, we are happy to mind pets on our exchange. We have done pet minding on most of our exchanges and we are happy to include them in our family life. We have minded dogs, cats and even rabbits!
