Our Home
Our house is a historic brownstone in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, New York City. There are three stories: top level - 3 bedrooms + bath; 2nd floor - office, living room and bath; 1st floor - large modern kitchen, family room, dining room, toilet and laundry. The house was recently renovated and includes all modern amenities, yet all the historical architectural details have been preserved. There is a pretty garden out back with a gas grill and a table for dining. We have two children (girls), so there are plenty of toys, games, and books. We also have a piano. The upstairs living room has a pull-out couch (we use it as our guest room), increasing the accommodation space to 7.
Our Neighborhood
We live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, a beautiful, historic, brownstone neighborhood, which is home to many families. Park Slope is just 15 minutes by subway from downtown Manhattan, but has much to offer in its own right. Within walking distance from our house are: Prospect Park (with zoo and carousel), The Brooklyn Museum (art), the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (dance, theatre, opera, film), and many wonderful shops and restaurants. There is also a playground just a few minutes walk from the house which has fountains for children to play in and often has live music on summer evenings. Our block is terrific - safe, beautiful, lots of children - and our neighbors are very friendly.

Other Information
We could include our car (and carseats) in the exchange. A car is not necessary in Brooklyn or Manhattan, however, it could be helpful if you want to explore Long Island or any other areas outside the city. We have family nearby in Brooklyn and also on Long Island. We could definitely help you arrange a trip to one of Long Island's beautiful beaches. We also have a weekend home near the beach on Long Island which may be available too. See pictures of this house at circapartners.com/NewSuffolkRental/.

Our Dates
We will travel anytime the kids are out of school. Non-simultaneous exchange is possible as we have a second home where we spend a lot of time in the summer. Also, hospitality exchange is possible for small groups.

Our Destinations
I am interested in doing an exchange this Spring when we'll be visiting Paris for a few days with my cousin and his family. We'd all like to travel together (4 adults, 4 children) to a holiday destination after a few days in Paris.
I'm also interested in exchanging our vacation home on the North Fork of Long Island for 1 week next summer in Fire Island, preferably on/near the ocean.
Other than that, we love San Sebastian, Spain and would jump at the chance to travel there any time we could. We are also interested in visiting Galicia, maybe summer 2008? Otherwise, we are particularly interested in Spanish-speaking countries, but are open to many other destinations too.

About Us
We are a family of 4 who love to travel and experience other cultures.
Jennifer, a former banker, is now home full-time, taking care of the children.
Clayton, a web developer and photographer, also works from home.
Our daughters are Mia who is 6 and Ella who is 5. The girls used to attend a Spanish pre-school and we are always looking for ways for them to practice their Spanish.
Last but not least, we have a friendly kitten named Ozzy.
We lived in Manhattan for 14 years, but moved to Brooklyn summer 05. We are enchanted with our new neighborhood and we think you will be too. We look forward to doing an exchange soon!
