We live in a big,rambling,comfortable two storey,five bedroom beach house situated in town, at the end of a quiet cul de sac and enjoy an absolute beach frontage.Walk out the back gate and you're on a beautiful pristine uncrowded beach
Downstairs there are three bedrooms, a bathroom,laundry and a large living,dining,kitchen,area with a sandstone floor which spills out onto a covered patio and tropical garden ideal for outdoor entertaining. The kitchen is equiped with Blanco appliances and there is a large Samsung LCD in the living area.
Upstairs is like a private apartment with a generous master bedroom and en suite,another bedroom,study and a second living room which serves as a home theatre equiped with a giant 1.53m or 6ft Samsung tv and top of the line Bose lifestyle 48 surround sound system.This room leads onto an upstairs deck which has an ocean view.The house is fully air conditioned and more than 400sq m or 4000sq ft in area plus patios and decks.

Byron Bay,the most easterley point in Australia, has a high national and international profile as a fun holiday destination with a funky edge.It's an old whaling town like Lahaina on Maui and is an 8 hour drive[or a 1 hour flight] north of Sydney and a 2 hour drive south of Brisbane.Queensland's Gold Coast,a short drive to the north, is golfer's heaven, boasting 20 or so world class courses.
Byron is a beautiful sub-tropical paradise blessed with magnificent beaches, warm water and lush mountainous hinterland. Winter maximum daytime temperature is around 19- 20 degrees C,Summer around 27.There are several internationally renowned surf breaks nereby and hundreds of kilometres of pristine coastline to explore.Whales swim right under the cape during their annual migration and can be easily observed from the lighthouse area.
The town itself is intimate,friendly and culturally diverse.There is a wide variety of restaurants ranging from fine dining to intimate cafes.There are mainstream cinemas,a funky art house cinema,plenty of live music,street theatre,interesting shops and boutiques,cultural festivals and all kinds of alternative therapies for relaxation.There are a number of interesting historical villages to explore in the hinterland.
Byron is a Mecca for outdoor activities.World class surf breaks,excellent dive locations,ocean kayaking,whale watching,hiking,biking,fishing,hang gliding and golf make for a memorable holiday.

We can't extend the ski holiday beyond the end of february because university starts early March

Open to any dates

In an ideal world we would like to spend a month anytime between xmas and late-feb any year in Vail,Aspen,Tahoe,Steamboat, Utah resorts, Whistler or other ski locations in the Canadian Rockies. Other than that we're open to anything. Tempt us.

My 21 year old son[Toby],and I[John] have been living in our present home for 9 years.I moved to Byron in 1975 from Sydney and have loved living here.I have lived in London and South Africa.
We both love surfing and to be able to walk out the back gate onto the beach and go for a surf is a special feeling.
I am a practicing dentist in Byron and Toby is studying Geology at university.We also love skiing and golf and are very keen to swap houses in January or february, any year with people who have properties in prime ski locations in the U.S.,Canada or Europe.
Depending on the timing, we may be accompanied by a couple of friends who are fellow professionals and your home will be in good hands.
