Our Home

Our house is a lovely old villa in Copenhagen in a district called Frederiksberg. It has 3 living rooms and 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. We love our new house, its feeling of openess and overwhelming amount of light and fresh green views (compared to the busy streets within the city). The furnishings are light and everything is child friendly. We have a closed garden, with garden furniture, barbeque, and everything to amuse children. There are views from the 1st floor balconies over the beautiful villas. There is also a rather large garden house with extra beds and table tennis, a greenhouse, a small conservatory, and a garage.
We have recently moved in and are still in the process of decorating. More photos can be provided.

Transport is very easy from the house:
-There is a metro station only 5 min walk away from the house that will take you to the centre of Copenhagen in 10 min and to the beach (YES!) in 20 min and to the airport in 30 min.
-There is a busstop at the end of the road with busses that also go to the centre
-There is a train station 7 min walk from the house with connections all over Denmark
-The best way to travel in Copenhagen is by bicycle and we have three (+ kids bikes in many sizes) that you can use. The majority of the busy streets have bicycle lanes and you can take the bike on the metro and trains.
-We also have a car that we are willing to swop.

Our Neighborhood

Frederiksberg is the green part of Copenhagen with the beautiful park Frederiksberg Have in the centre. The area is situated as an island in Copenhagen and distinguishes itself by being exclusive and more quiet, yet not suburbian. There are exclusive shopping streets, countless cafés, restaurants, theatre houses and cinemas close by and Copenhagen zoo is only 10 min from our house.

The small neighbourghood we live in is a listed area from around 1915 with strict restrictions to modifications allowing preservation of the original architechture. The area is extreamly cosy and has a village feeling to it, which combined with the close proximity to the centre of town makes it a great place to live.

Copenhagen itself offers all that a capital city should, including: great museums in the city and outskirts (Louisiana and Arken) ; live music from the new opera house, concert halls, churches, open air concerts in Tivoli gardens as well as the festivals including Copenhagen Jazz festival and Roskilde festival every July. There are restaurants representing cuisine from all over the world and many chic and relaxed cafés, as well as amusement parks inside the city (Tivoly gardens, 160 years old amusement park) and Bakken just outside Copenhagen. For an alternative view of Copenhagen, there is Christinia with its unique art and way of life. Within the past 20 years, large parts of the city have been renovated and in the summer the city is truly beautiful. The inner harbours have been cleaned and swimming docks are spread all over the city.

Other attractions outside Copenhagen but in easy reach for day trips are: Kronborg (Hamlet’s castle) , Roskilde Viking museum, all less than an hour away. Sweden across the bridge, takes 15 min. by train or car and the south of Sweden is a true Swedish landscape with vastness and red wooden houses, old universities and monasteries. There are beaches up and down the coast and you are never more than a few km’s from the nearest.

It is a capital city with all that goes with it, but the special thing about Copenhagen in the summer is the coastline with beaches and the inner harbours that can be reached from any point within 30 min. From the main harbour (Nyhavn) there are boats to the beautiful island of Bornholm, to Sweden, Norway and Poland. Restaurants and daytrips with small ferries to the old fortress islands around Copenhagen are also available.
