Our Home

A large and spacious family home located in a quite cul de sac in the lovely and very popular neighbourhood of Ranelagh which is only 3km from Dublin's city centre. A tram station stop is only 50 metres from our house and it is an excellent and quick way of getting into the city centre (8 minutes journey time) and surrounding areas.

My wife has lived in this beautiful home all her life and is rightly very proud of it. The house is tastefully furnished and is equipped all modern conveniences and with televisions, DVD players, PCs with high speed broadband connection. We have three good sized bedrooms and the smaller fourth bedroom which has a bunk bed. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the second bedroom has a double bed and the third room has twin beds. Downstairs there are two reception rooms, an office and kitchen/ living room. There is a computer available with high speed (broadband) connection so you can keep in touch with friends and family back home.

There is a front garden, drive way and a good sized back garden (south west facing) to get the afternoon and evening sun with children's swings, trampoline and a gas barbeque.

We are prepared to exchange cars and believe that our home will provide an excellent location for anyone wishing to visit Dublin and Ireland.

Our Neighborhood

Ranelagh is a very central location. It has become a very sought after area in Dublin. People are attracted to the area because of its special village atmosphere and because it has many restaurants, coffee shops, bars and shops. It is an excellent place to rear a family and its location makes it very accessible to the wide range of amenities and attractions (Zoo, art galleries, museums, theatres, etc) that Dublin and the surrounding areas have to offer.

The nearest beach (Sandymount) is 4km away and the Dublin and Wicklow mountains are only 14km. With the motorway only 5km away, it will make an excellent location for touring other parts of Ireland. There are a number of super golf courses within a 30 minute drive.

Dublin is the third most visited city destination in Europe and has a vast arrray of attractions. For more info on Dublin check out www.visitdublin.com

If you also plan to visit other parts of our lovely country, please bear in mind that while of road network has improved dramatically in the last decade, getting around Ireland can take a bit longer than you may be used to particularly when travelling off the motorways. A journey from Dublin to Galway for example is around 170km and will take 3. 5 - 4 hours. We have 2 cars which we are willing to exchange, a six seater Mazda 5 and a family saloon - Honda Accord

Our Destinations

We are organised with exchanges for Summer 2012

After competing twelve exchanges and having seeing first hand the benefits of home exchange, we are open to all destinations but would have a strong preference to exchange with a family who also have kids and have child friendly homes. As we have school going children, we are restricted to school holidays for doing home exchanges.

About Us

View Feedback About My Exchanges

My name is Diarmaid, I'm aged 51 and i am a CEO of a charity. My wife Louise is a very busy homemaker and taxi service to our kids. Louise has lived in this house over 40 years and wouldn't live anywhere else. I don't blame her. It is such a lovely home and wonderful neighbourhood with excellent neighbours. I speak English, Irish and have basic French.

Our kids aged 16, 14 and 12 due to over generous aunts and uncles have a large collection of toys, books, DVDs and playstation games. Our eldest is boy Cillian is into his playstation, rowing and rugby and our two daughters, Nicola and Lauren, love music, especially the piano and art.
