Our house is situated in a village which has food shops, a Post Office and 2 pubs. It is close to the market town of Bicester and 10 miles north of Oxford city centre, with regular bus-services to both. The house has two reception rooms, one with an open fire and comfortable seating for 4/5 people, and a separate dining room. We have a large, fully-fitted kitchen with the usual range of appliances. There is also a ground-floor toilet.
On the first-floor there is an attractive bathroom, a bedroom with a firm king-size bed, another with double bed and a third with a single bed. A comfortable bed is important to us and we hope you enjoy ours!
The house decor is interesting and warm, with rich colours, and lots of pictures and books.
The garden is very attractive, in a courtyard style, with colourful planting and a paved areas for relaxing or eating.
There are two adult cycles available for use and plenty of local cycle paths and country lanes to explore.

Our village is 2.5km from the market town of Bicester and surrounded by open country and other villages. It has an ancient church, two working farms and a livery stable. There are two pubs where food is served, a high quality butchers and a general store. A young wood planted by the villagers to mark the Millenium provides a pleasant area to walk in. Just outside the village there is a fishing lake.
Nearby Bicester has a public leisure centre with swimming pool, gym and Squash and Badminton courts (rackets are available to hire) . There is also a country club/golf course at 4km and you are welcome to use my clubs/trolley. The whole area is easy for cycling and walking. The village is 40 minutes by car from The Chiltern Hills and The Cotswolds, both renowned areas of outstanding beauty, and perfect for walking and visiting the many attractive villages and market towns.
Oxford city centre with its many cultural, historic and architectural attractions can be reached by bus, car or 'park and ride' in about 30 mins. There is a frequent train service from Bicester to Central London (1hr15min) and a motorway link to London or Warwick/Birmingham three miles distant.

My name is Keith and my wife is Jenny. I am originally from London, where my two adult children still live, and Jenny is originally from Yorkshire. We are both in our early sixties and retired , after careers working in the same blue chip multi-national. We share interests in literature, history, music and cinema, and a love of Italy and France. Jenny is a keen gardener while my outdoor interests are hill walking/trekking and occasional sailing.
