Our Home

Our house is an old farmhouse which has been renovated and extended. It is set in a pleasant bend of the river Seine, between the forest and the river, with their white cliffs and ships coming from all over the world. The garden is 2,5 acres, with plenty of trees and flowers. The house itself is situated off the road, and is very quiet. There are two stories, 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a study, a lounge-dining-room, and a TV room lounge upstairs.
We have had many exchanges in the past, which have all been sucessful and enriching. All our exchange-partners have found our home and environs a great experience.

Our Neighborhood

Sahurs is a charming village of 1300 inhabitants near Rouen, the historic medieval town renowned for its connection with Joan of Arc, its glorious cathedral with 150m spire (once the tallest building in the world) painted by Monet, and its delicious cuisine (cider, tarte aux pommes. . . ).
In the village, there are some old houses, a manor-house with its little chapel, a baker, a grocer, a café cum newsagent, a tobacconist, a post-office. There is also a stadium (well, a football pitch) with a tennis court. The forest and its teeming wildlife is close at hand, and we have bicycles for all interested.
It's also wonderful to stroll along the Seine, or take the ferry to go to the quaint "Impressionist" village of La Bouille on the South Bank.
We are 45 min away from the sea (Dieppe, Etretat), one hour and a quarter away from Paris, and the same from Honfleur, or the Normandy beaches. Our region is also full of well-known old abbey ruins (Boscherville, Jumièges, St Wandrille).

Other Information

If the exchange should take place with an overseas country, we would definitely consider exchanging cars. We have a 5 seater Volkswagen Touran with a large boot.

We have also two cats which would have to be looked after. But they're very easy to deal with.

Let's talk about Bollywood!
I've started this blog to make you discover and enjoy Indian cinema ! (Ce blog - en anglais - veut faire partager ma passion pour le cinéma indien)

Our Dates

We have found an exchange for this summer of 2011; but please do not hesitate to offer your destination for the future, we'll always examine what you have to offer, and always reply!

Our Destinations

We're open to most European destinations. Destinations in the Americas or Oceania are unfortunately too expensive for us in terms of travel, regretfully.

We also are hoping that one day we may get to EXCHANGE JOBS in an English-speaking country. That might include North America (We have long lasting experience in teaching English and French; one of us has a Christian theology diploma)

About Us

We are a close-knit family of English teachers (the two of us) and 5 energetic children, three of whom are adults now and would rarely come with us. Recently there has been only 4 of us left to exchange! We are interested in travelling and discovery; we have a taste for sports, reading, meeting friends, travelling and family pleasures; we love animals, nature, the simple life.
We enjoy house exchanges a lot, this feeling of discovering the life and culture of other people via an introduction to the intimate dimension of the home; for us it is each time an adventure.
