| The Home |
Ours is one of six townhouses with stunning views out to sea and across to the mountains. 2 double bedrooms, 1 single, 1 bathroom, 1 additional loo. Balcony front and back. Shared pool two minutes away. Quiet neighbourhood, but near to shops, bank and restaurants. Golf 15 minutes drive, tennis 5 minutes drive, great sea-sports on the beach - 5 minutes drive. Diving also an option in crystal clear seas.
Our home is upside-down: bedrooms on the ground floor but very secluded; upstairs open-plan, cool and with those wonderful views. The bedrooms are airconditioned and all windows have flyscreens. |

| The Neighborhood |
Cypriots are extremely hospitable and most speak English so there are few communication problems. Away from the tourist drag there are dozens of unspoilt tavernas and restaurants. We drive on the left, life is exceedingly relaxed and it's a wonderful place for a holiday. If you like antiquities, there are a large number of sites to explore. If you just want to laze in the sun, this is the place to do it!
There are a number of excellent complementary therapists in Cyprus, from a quite astounding range of disciplines: EFT, Sekhem, Advanced Reiki, Reflexology etc. One-to-one course can be arranged for anyone who wants to learn, re-qualify or upgrade their qualification. |

| Other Information |
Cyprus is a wonderful holiday destination and one that all the family will enjoy. The two months on offer will certainly have wall-to-wall sunshine on a daily basis and warm seas for swimming and diving.
Our airconditioned saloon car may be included in the exchange if required and you are experienced driving on the 'wrong' side of the road. Hire-cars and 4x4 jeeps are easy to book in advance. Fuel is cheap here - currently under 1 Euro per litre for diesel. This makes exploring the whole island a possibility. Although the island is still occupied in the North by Turkish troops, it is possible to visit Kyrenia and the Panhandle: much of it remains derelict or poverty-stricken but is interesting to visit. |

| The Dates |
EUROPE: Up to three weeks or more in July/August 2009 during the school holidays. Warning: tickets to Cyprus become difficult to get and expensive the later bookings are made.
YEAR-ROUND: Tell us where you are and we'll see if we can make ourselves available for an exchange - MUST be warm, please!
|
| The Destination |
SPRING/SUMMER 2009: We prefer rural surroundings in Europe - we would like to be in southern France this year, but NOT on the coast, or Northern Spain. Atlantic facing would be good. Nikki is an able gardener and will take care of plants, especially veggies. We don't need anything grand, but preferably somewhere with a good view over countryside, the sea or lakes. We will give every application consideration. We will not be exchanging cars unless you have lots of experience driiving a LH drive car on the 'wrong' side of the road!
We can offer up to four weeks of exchange as we will be off-island for all of August.
YEAR-ROUND: we will consider all applications to countries where the sun is shining and the weather warm (but not baking)during the proposed exchange period.

| The People |
We are Chris & Nikki: at 60, we retired to Cyprus from Southeast Asia via UK and we love life here in the Cyprus slow lane. We wander the cliffs and beaches regularly, dive, play tennis and walk to the bay for a leisurely lunch on a regular basis.
We don't have any pets, so no problems for visitors if you choose to take off for a day or two to visit the North.
Our residential area is very quiet, with everyone expected to observe 'quiet after 11pm' unwritten rules. Equally, with the pool: year-round residents do not take kindly to inflatable crocodiles and boisterous ball-games taking up the majority of the pool - that's what the sea is for!
