Our apartment is in a recently renovated 4 family building that was constructed towards the end of the 19th century. Today it enjoys a living/dining room, parents bedroom, 2 bedrooms for the kids, a modern kitchen, 1 1/2 baths and a 100 sq ft balcony. It normally sleeps 4, and the kids rooms have rollout beds to accomodate two more people.

Among the amenities, we have a piano, a flat screen TV with over 150 stations including many HD and English language channels, WIFI and 100 Mpbs Internet, a washer and dryer, and an expresso machine in the apartment. Officially it is on the (European) first floor, but it is two stories by stairs up from the street entrance or one story up from the back entrance.

The building is located close to the River Limmat with its endless trails on either side (much like the Towpath). There are tennis courts and soccer fields across the river, you can swim in the river, and Zurich Werdinsel, a popular beach, is about a 7 minute walk downstream from the apartment. The nearest convenience store (with delicious fresh baked bread!) is a 5 minute walk, the nearest tram stop is 7 minutes and downtown Zurich is another 10 minutes by tram.

Across the river is Zurich West, the revitalized "Industrial Quarter" - restaurants, theaters, and bars are abundant in the area around Escher-Wyss-Platz

Zurich is the largest city of Switzerland by land area and population. It is the financial centre of Switzerland and houses the stock exchange and the headquarters of a large number of national and international companies, and also home of FIFA's headquarter. Its two major universities, ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the University of Zurich are listed among world's best universities. You also find Google's world-wide second largest development center in Zurich.

Zurich has recently become a popular tourist destination due to the city’s increasing cosmopolitan population, its cultural liberalization, and last but not least, its diverse cuisine.

Like Switzerland as a whole, Zurich has fantastic public transportation. You can get from anywhere to anywhere in Switzerland via some combination of bus, tram, train, or even ship. The Zurich Main Station is the central node of the Swiss-wide train network. Zurich is also home to the biggest and busiest international airport in the country. The nearest ski resorts are about one hour away by car or by train and all of Switzerland is a no more than a few hours away from the Main Station.

We are somewhat constrained by the short summer vacation of Zurich schools July 14 to August 15, but we would be pleased to start a conversation now about next years' vacation.

We are planning this trip so our kids can attend the Arena Stage summer camp. The camp is located at 35th & Q St NW.

Our preference would be some place between within the triangle formed by Georgetown, Bethsda and Silver Spring (inside the Beltway).

We are a family of four planning to come to DC so our kids can attend the Arena Stage summer camp.
