Our Home
Elegant and bright, tastefully decorated and beautifully landscaped, our home is a real gem. Every room is suffused with light (there are 7 skylights!), every room offers a lovely view of our garden (there are cozy window seats that look onto the garden in four rooms); you will find our home to be very welcoming. Originally a 1940s bungalow, it was remodeled by a well-known architect in the 1980s. It has one master bedroom (with a king bed), one bedroom with single bunk beds, two full bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a den (where guests sleep), an office, and a newly updated kitchen. There is plenty of closet space and a convenient laundry room with w/d. A small cottage rented to three students sits at the back of the property.
The lush and leafy yard has many lovely places for sitting, with five majestic redwood trees rising above. We have a ping-pong table and a basketball net. Two adult bikes and two child-size bikes are also available.
The immediate area offers all sorts of delights (restaurants, cafes, bars, movie theaters, shops, markets, bookstores, etc.). We are walking distance to downtown Berkeley and less than a half a mile from the nearest BART subway station. Our home is situated on a designated bike path street and is just a few blocks from several bus stops. The UC Berkeley campus is a 15-minute walk.
