| Wexford is an attractive part of Ireland, with rolling green hills and some of the country's loveliest beaches. New Ross, the nearest town to the house, is located approximately half way between Waterford city and Wexford town, both important cultural centres with active arts and entertainments scenes. New Ross itself is an historic small town with a pleasant centre and picturesque traditional pubs and shops (and is the birthplace of the family of John F. Kennedy) . Kilkenny city and other important urban centres are less than a hour's drive away from this rural idyll! In the immediate vicinity there are many lovely parks, arboretums and riverside walks, with the nearest beaches just 25 minutes drive. Golf and horse-riding are also available nearby, and hiking routes (mostly alongside rivers and canals) are well mapped. |

| This is a second home, so we are very open to non-simultaneous exchanges. The cottage is located on our family's property, so there will always be someone to help out in the unlikely case of an emergency. With a little notice, cleaning can be arranged for you at the local rate (currently about 8 Euro an hour) . |

We are quite flexible in terms of where we would like to go (we both work from home) but we strongly prefer locations with broadband access and are especially interested in the Atlantic islands, Central America and the Eastern Mediterranean as well as Newfoundland and European destinations. Unfortunately, the USA, Canada or Australia are not part of our plans.

| The People |
We (Deirdre and Giovanni) are an Irish-Italian family with a home in Rome and a second in Ireland. We have two small boys, Finbar (6) and Salvatore (18m), whose collection of Irish toys can be freely used by any visiting children.
