This is an independent country side home on top of a hill surrounded by 1 acre of garden with fruit trees (plums, apricots, apples, figs). It has breath-taking views all around it, totally uninterrupted since neither us nor our neighbors have fences. We live in a very quiet area, where everybody knows and respects each other in a friendly but at the same time discrete way.

The ground floor is an open-space with television area, reading and music area and dining area.
The kitchen gives on this open area through a counter and is equipped with dishwasher, grill-microwave, a large oven (great for baking pizza!) and a refrigerator. Still on the ground floor there is also a bathroom with a shower and the laundry room.

The upper floor has four bedrooms: three are equipped with one double bed and a bunk bed, while the fourth one has a bunk bed and a single bed. On this floor there are two bathrooms: one with a bath-tub and one with a shower.

We have a gas BBQ and carbon grilling area with garden furniture for outdoor dining. Still for outdoor fun, we have a Croquet set, Badminton set, a Tennis Table, a Basketball basket, an Electronic Dart Board, a Swing, a Hammock and in the summer we mount a small above ground frame Pool (3m diameter and 70 cm high).

For musical lovers, we also have a keyboard, an electrical guitar and a classical guitar. We also have quite a collection of books, mainly English, American, Italian and French literature, in the original language. We love our books, but we will be very happy for you to read them during your stay. Please, remember to leave them at the house when you leave, though. :-)

Upon request we can arrange special Italian dinners at the house, cooking lessons, visits to local food and wine producers, visits to famous car makers' factories that are in the area.

We will provide you with a booklet containing information and ideas on where to go for local tourism, shopping and other necessities.

This house is on the top of a hill between Castelvetro and Marano sul Panaro, an area which is famous for the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, the original Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan Cheese) and the Lambrusco Grasparossa.

With a short walk you can reach the local Acetaia that produces Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and you can buy excellent wine at a local Winery which is 300m from the house.

A few minutes walk will take you also to either of the three great restaurants in this small village.

Florence, Milan and Verona are about 1,5 hour from us and Venice is about 2 hrs.
Bologna and Modena are both about 30minutes away, just like Maranello and Formigine, both are interesting destination for car lovers.

You can reach the seaside with a 1,5 hour drive (Ravenna is both a sea-resort and an important touristic destination) and the mountains in 30 minutes (Monte Cimone, in the Appenines).

There are several hiking and Nordic Walking itineraries in the area and in 40 minutes driving you can reach the Monte Cimone area where there are further hiking trails with beautiful views of the Tuscan mountains.
In the winter the Monte Cimone area becomes a very well organized Ski Area for Nordic Skiing, Snowboard and Alpine Skiing.

There are also several Mountain bike trails.

The Modena Country and Golf Club (designed by Bernhard Langer) is 15 minutes driving from the house and offers an outstanding 18 holes course and a 9 pitch-and-putt course. It is not the only one in the area, however, since within 40 minutes from the house there are 6 golf courses (of which we shall leave you information).

Since this is our second home, we consider a non-simultaneous home exchange.

For HOME EXCHANGES we have to follow Italian school holidays (one week around CHRISTMAS and EASTER, JULY and AUGUST for Summer vacations).

For HOME RENTAL and for NON-SIMULTANEOUS exchanges, we are open to offers ALL YEAR ROUND.

We are a family of four: Marco and Cristina, both in our 40s, and two children of 10 and 8 (in 2013!).
We are both entrepreneurs working in the Digital Marketing Sector.

We also have two cats, Pallina and Superman, who do not travel with us. They will probably stay with family while we are away, however.

When we travel we like to learn as much as possible about the places we are visiting: their history, art, architecture, natural treasures, food and artisan products; anything that makes up the culture of that area and the "ways of life" of the local people.

We find that very enriching and want our children to experience it as much as possible so that they may learn to appreciate the differences in this world.

We also love to practice sport (golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, skiing), to cook and to spend time with friends and family.
