Our Home
We live in a turn of the century brick apartment building, in a soon to be historic district. Our home is near lots of public transportation (i.e several subway and bus lines intersect here). Our home is a mere 450 square feet. This includes a small bedroom, a sunny sitting room, a kitchen with washer/dryer, a living room and a bathroom. The furnishings and the ambiance are in keeping with the antique quality of the building with lots of exposed brick and original wood moldings.
Nonetheless, we have amenities such as a wide screen TV with cable. We also have a computer and internet access.
Please note, this is a fifth floor apartment with no elevator and no doorman. The stairway keeps us in shape and the fifth floor allows us a view of the city and a nice breeze. Our guests must be quiet, mature and very considerate of our neighbors.
Our Neighborhood
The East Village is a lively, youthful neighborhood with clubs and restaurants galore. We live near New York University, the New Museum, lots of Village clubs, theatres and movie houses. We are within walking distance to Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, Noho and the Lower Eastside. Subway stations to the West side and East Side are a short walk away.

Other Information
We often travel in June and September- a lovely time of the year to visit the City. We would be happy to have you come during those months. We hope to travel to your area in November. Ideally, we are looking for a home exchange with someone in the Berkeley, San Francisco area who needs to travel to New York City at least annually. Our schedule is somewhat flexible and we are considerate, helpful guests.

Our Dates
Our son and daughter-in-law are due to give birth in mid-November. We would like to visit around that time for at least a week.
About Us
We are a recently retired couple who worked in the mental health care field. Our son is expecting his first child and we are hoping to find an exchange that would allow us to spend more time with his family (and our new grandchild).
