Our Home
The house is a four bedroom bungalow - the only modern house in the very centre of a beautiful, historic English village - with all the advantages of a modern house and all the charm of a four hundred year old village. There is a living room which is approximately 25' long, two bathrooms (one with bath, one with power shower) and a Kitchen equipped for dining with an eight seater table. There is use of two Apple Macinstosh Computers, a 42" Plasma TV with Sky+ Satellite (like Satellite TiVo), WiFi and a Wii. There are also instruments including a Baby Grand Piano and Fender Strat that you can use and several hundred books. For cleaning there is an iRobot Roomba and and iRobot Scooba.
We have a small external gym in our garden with a Multigym and Elliptical trainer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptical_trainer
The garden is something of a wildlife preserve with English wild flowers, birds and animals like hedgehogs, edible blackberries and edible currants rather than being formal. There is a children's climbing frame and swings in the garden and a playhouse..There is also a selection of bicycles (bicycle helmets) of various sizes.
We have an Audi Q7 Tdi that may be available for exchange. Alternatively you may exchange your car for my my classic XJ Sport or our Saab 900i

Our Neighborhood
We are about fifty feet away from Old Thatched Inn http://www.theoldthatchedinn.co.uk (a very comfortable, friendly gastropub which people travel to from many miles around - not a bar in the US sense.).
If you've seen the Lord of the Rings films you'll get an idea of the green, rural soft mellowness of this part of the world
Across the road from us is the historic Adstock House (which was the backup center for Bletchley Park codebreaking establishment, where the Bombes [first computers] used to decode German Enigma messages in World War Two were located).
The area very friendly and is essentially zero crime - women or children can walk around the neibourhood any time day or night. http://www.police.uk/overview/?q=Adstock,%20Buckinghamshire%20MK18%202HZ,%20UK
Excellent central location midway between Oxford and Cambridge (which we visit regularly for theater, museums, boating and excursions). Trains from the nearest big town, Milton Keynes take 35 mins into London, so if you are going to the Olympics this is a great location. Milton Keynes also has one of the largest shopping malls in Europe. We are about ten minutes drive from Stowe Landscape gardens and Stowe house - one of the finest English Country Houses of the Enlightenment - whose beautiful grounds are open to the public and were designed to stimulate intellectual and contemplation.

EXCHANGES ALREADY ARRANGED FOR SUMMER 2012
Our Destinations
(1) California: Anywhere in the Bay Area would be great. Marin and Saratoga are particularly liked - but the children are excited about going to San Francisco! Also anywhere in or near the forests and within a day's drive of the Bay Area.
(2) Anywhere in the Alps would also be great.
(3) Any rural location in Tuscany, Provence or Greece. Anywhere at all in BVI.
For Europe we would be travelling in our Audi Q7 so we would not be needing car exchange although we can offer the Saab 900i if you need transport. We can get by in French, Italian or German.

About Us
I'n Mark - a scientist previously working at Cambridge University (with a Ph.D from Oxford in Cancer Research) and my wife is Beth, formerly a translator and teacher of Latin and Ancient Greek. We are a young family with four daughters and we currently run a scientific software company, mainly from home. We enjoy music, theatre, travel, languages & philosophy. I also enjoy astronomy and classic British cars and used to practice Koshin Ki. Beth is a former athlete and runner who ran at National standards (her sister is a fair trade worker who used to run for England).
Our daughters are
Rachel (15) Rachel is a talented young musician and artist who loves wild animals, nature and children and attends a Montessori school. Rachel & Sophie both got the highest possible scores in their MENSA entry tests (Catell test).
Sophie (13) Sophie attends a school for gifted children where she attained 100% in her entry grade (where the entry grade defining the gifted category was 69%). Sophie is extremely popular and always surrounded by a crowd of friends and very much a leader!
Amber (9) Amber is a perky, chatty girl rather reminiscent of the sort of children in Dr Seuss books. She enjoys pretty things, ponies and all the things that you might expect
Lara (5). Lara is an extremely articulate and charming girl who enjoys making things, outdoor sports and watching Mythbusters with her sister Rachel. Lara's TV hero is Kari Byron from Mythbusters. Lara insists on always wearing summer dresses almost regardless of weather.
For those of you with very special things in your home - do not fear! Our girls are extremely active and energetic but very good at looking after things. We have things like a 50 million year old fossil fish in the hall and some Hittite sculpture that pre-dates the Trojan war (1400bc) just out in the open on shelves and these have never been damaged or even at risk (If you have little ones who you might be worried about breaking these just tell us and we can pack fragile things away).
