Our apartment is spacious (125 sqm). It is situated in a modern building in the center of Amsterdam. The front is almost completely made of glass, therefore there is lot of light inside. The apartment has wooden floors allover. It is well equiped with everything you need: dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer, kitchen equipment, wireless internet, digital television, dvd player etc.

In front of the house, we have our "city garden" where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner (to the extent Dutch weather permits!). In addition there is a 10 sqm terrace on the first floor. The road in front of the building is only allowed for bikes and not for cars. The apartment building is located adjacent to a typical Amsterdam canal.

Inside the apartment, on the ground floor, there is a separate kitchen / dining room and a study with seperate bath room. The study is also our guest room, with a single bed. On the second floor there is a spacious living room which is connected to the kitchen through walking glass. On the second floor we also have a master bedroom and two bedrooms with children's beds (one bed for age 0-3, and the other for age 3-6). The second floor is completed with the main bathroom and a separate toilet.

We have bikes that you can use to explore Amsterdam, including a "bakfiets" (transport bike, see picture), ideal to ride around with young children (1-6 years old; they need to be able to sit themselves on a little bench inside the carrier).

Our apartment is located in the middle of the beautiful Plantage neighborhood, which is an oasis in Amsterdam's inner city. Amid its leafy streets there is a wealth of culture, theatre, history, nature and science. You can enjoy its many cultural attractions, view the architecture, rummage around the flee market, buy a designer item or a diamond and rest in one of the parks or find a table in a cafe or one of the many fine restaurants.

Around the corner: Artis Zoo, Resistance museum, Hortus Botanicus, Holocaust memorial, canal boat stop, tourist bus stop

Walking distance (5-20 minutes): Tropenmuseum, Scheepvaart museum, science center Nemo, Rembrandt House museum, Hermitage Amsterdam, Waterlooplein, Dam square.

Well connected with public transport to South museum district (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk museum) and to all other parts of the city that you would like to visit.

Public transport and key exit roads are not further than a stone-throw away. The central trains station is just 5 minutes by taxi or 10 minutes by public transport. By car, you'll be at Amsterdam Schiphol airport within 30 minutes.

My brother lives in Dublin, Blackrock, with his wife and kids, we plan to visit them.

We are looking for a weekend (2 or 3 nights) in Dublin in May or June 2013, preferably in southern part, e.g. Blackrock or Ballsbridge.

We are Wouter (37) and Colette (34). We have two children: Mats is 4 years old and Bien is 1.

Colette has a master in International Relations. She is active in the environmental services industry. Wouter has a master in Law and in Business Administration. He works at online retailer bol.com.

Colette is into yoga and cooking. Wouter enjoys sports (cycling, running, footbal) and yoga.
