Our Home
A traditional Berlin Altbau in a 1900's friendly block. Our ground floor apartment has a very large living room space (about 40 m2), a separate large bedroom (which faces the quiet courtyard), a big kitchen (washing machine, oven etc.) and bathroom (bath/ shower). In the living room we have built a office made from glass windows. We have wi-fi. We also have a child's play area (we have an infant). The main rooms are large with high ceilings. There is a double bed in the bedroom and a cot and a large sofa (and we have a spare futon) for additional children or guests.
There is an outside dining table in the courtyard and we are very near two U-bahn stations which take 15 minutes to reach Alexanderplatz. The defunct Templehof Airport, now a public park, is a short distance as are bars and restaurants an outside swimming pool (Sommerbad) and a large park with outdoor cinema, a farm with camels and lamas and fantastic playgrounds for kids.

Our Neighborhood
Over the last few years, our neighbourhood (Neukölln) has become the one of the more fashionable districts in Berlin, with new galleries, bars and restaurants opening up all the time. The Sandmann bar, which is two doors down and recommended in Lonely Planet, has live music on Sundays and Mondays. Further down Reuterstr are restaurants and a Sunday flea market near the canal. The space is near two Ubahn stations, one (U8 from Boddinstr) going north-south and will take you into central Berlin in 15 mins), the other (U7 from Rathaus Neukölln) going east-west and connecting your airports and other destinations. Close by are two parks: Hasenheide Volkspark (with outdoor cinema and zoo enclosure) and Tempelhof Park, the site of the old airport. Sommerbad Neukölln, a series of outdoor swimming pools set in a park is also very close (open in summers only). For families there are hundreds of Spielplatz (playgrounds) in Berlin, and a two really great ones very close by, there's also a couple of city farms with camels and donkeys very nearby.
