Our house is a nice, airy home in a quite small, but leafy garden in a quiet and child-friendly neighbourhood. Yet we live only three kilometres from the centre of Bergen, which makes a nice stroll or an easy ride by bike to one of Norways top tourist areas. Bus connections are good and the busstop is just up the road.

Our neighbourhood is a well established part of Bergen with a very nice mix of families, many with children and/or teenagers living there. Our house was built in 1928, and has been completely renovated over the recent years. Just up the road from where we live, you will find a spacious green park with running water and several playgrounds surrounding it. You can go hiking right form our doorstep: The foot of Mount Ulriken (606 m, the highest of the seven mountains surrounding Bergen, is only an tin minute walk from our house.

Bergen is surrounded by sea and mountais, and you can easily go on a great variety of exciting day trips; The Hardangerfjord, The Sognefjord, glaciers, the very steep Flåm Line railway and a lot of scenic and culturally intersting spots are accesible.
The city of Bergen is famous for its fishmarket, aquarium, the Fløibanen funicular and not to for get its rich cultural life with a great variety of exciting museums, exhibitions, theatres and concert. On sunny days, the blossoming street life is well worth av visit!

We have already made six very succesful home exchanges to Spain (3 times), Sweden (twice) and the Netherlands, and the whole family loves this way of travelling. Since we have four children ourself, our home is very suitable for for families with children. We have a good range of toys for both boys and girls and childrens cartoons and movies.
We love biking and therefore have a lot of biking equipment, i. e. a wagon to hang after the bikes that is suitable both for transport of luggage, and - what we normally uses it for - giving the children a safe and comfortable ride.
We are non-smokes ourself and our house is a non-smoking area, but we don't mind you smoking as long as you are out on the terrace or in the garden.
We have very friendly and helpful neighbours who know our house and will be happy to welcome you if we are not there to meet you.

Seeking an exchange in California this Christmas. Could be non-simultaneously, our home is available for Christmas this year or Easter or Summer next year.

Solveig (42) and Øystein (44) are both working. Solveigs is a team leader in the Norwegian State housing bank and Øystein is the chief editor of a fish trading newspaper. We have four children, Tomasine (15) that love football, art, dancing, swimming and outdoor life, Tarjei (13) that is very fond of football, skating and drawing, Linus (8) that loves football and cars and Ines (5) that most of all loves her big sister and brothers!
