Birdsong is a comfortable, stylish, four-bedroom home, situated on a five acre property, in Bellawongarah part of the beautiful Shoalhaven District of southern New South Wales. The house has its own tennis court.

The house features a living room fitted with a TV, DVD and stereo system; a beautiful dining room that seats 8 and a large kitchen with all mod-cons. There's also a Weber barbecue on the porch, so it's a lovely and easy place to have a dinner party.

A long and wide patio runs around the house, with plenty of comfortable furniture and another large dining table, making it a delightful place to eat outside in summer or sit back with cup of tea or glass of wine and watch the sun set over the mountains or take in the birdlife which visit the property.

A music and library room adjoins one of the patios, which is separate from the rest of the house and a perfect place to retreat, if you need to get some work done, find a quiet place to read or simply have some peace and quiet. It also features a piano with pianola, if you're inclined to an after-dinner singalong.

There are four bedrooms - two containing queen beds, one with a double and one with twins.

We don't offer a car, but it would be advisable to have one. We aren't anti smoking but prefer that it be done outside.

Birdsong is approximately 150kilometers from Sydney and is situated on a mountain between the beautiful south coast beaches and the stunning Kangaroo Valley. The historic villages of both Berry and Kangaroo Valley are minutes away and offer an abundance of Restaurants, Cafes, Boutique Shops, Gift & Craft Shops and Art Galleries. Bellwongarah is particularly known for the variety of Australian native birds.

Seven Mile Beach is also close by and the famous ("the whitest sand in the word") Jervis Bay is just a 40 minute drive.

There is canoeing on the Kangaroo River, numerous bush-walking tracks, bicycles for hire and horse-riding, in a number of locations.

Animals and birds visit the property. You may see a kangaroo or an echidna. There are many wombats but it is unlikely that you will see one as they are very shy.

As our property is rented out for holidays and weekends, it is available at most times and set up to cope with visitors.

I would like somewhere for our family of four to spend Christmas, if possible.

My name is Cynthia. Our house that we are exchanging is our home is Australia, although my husband Jim and I are now lviing in Dubai. Jim's background is in banking, and, having come to work for a bank is now working for a developer building a large hotel. We have two daughters who are grown up one is studying in Oxford and the other is working in television in Sydney. One or other of them may be included in any exchange. Since I came to Dubai I haven't been working but I have taken the opportunity to do some travel and I would like to do some more.
The house is currently been let for weekends and holidays so we have a couple nearby who make sure the house is in good working order.
