Our Home
Our home is a lovely, comfortable, remodeled Cape Cod in Southeast Portland. The house encompasses three levels, with a large and open family room and play room on the lowest level. There are three bedrooms in the house, but we use one of the bedrooms on the main floor as a dining room, leaving available the sofa bed in the family room to serve as an additional private retreat. Our yard is quite large by city standards, and we have a vegetable garden, fruit trees, a spacious deck with plenty of seating, and a gas grill.
Our Neighborhood
We live right in the middle of the Hawthorne and Clinton/Division neighborhoods, two of the most vibrant and pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods in the city. A short walk will take you to plenty of shopping, great bars and pubs, gourmet markets, several fantastic restaurants, and a lovely vintage movie theater (complete with a brewpub). There are many transportation options within just a couple blocks of our house, and it is an easy ride downtown by bus or bike. An hour east will take you to the scenic Columbia River Gorge, where you can take part in some of the most beautiful hiking you'll ever see. The rugged Oregon Coast is just 1.5 hours to the west, and 1 hour to the south is Oregon's wine country in the Willamette Valley.

Our Dates
We like to travel to San Francisco during the summer months (when school is out and baseball season is in full swing), but we are open to drivable weekend exchanges year-round.
Our Destinations
To stave off homesickness, we try to visit San Francisco at least once a year. We are open to staying in most neighborhoods in the city, but we are mainly interested in swapping homes with a family who feels like a comfortable fit for us. We'd like to stay in San Francisco for at least a week.
We are also open to long weekend exchanges in areas within driving distance of Portland, OR, such as the Oregon coast, Bend, and Seattle, WA.

About Us
We are a family of three. David is a Portland native. He works in the book business and is an avid cyclist. Elizabeth is originally from the Bay Area. She is a writer and editor, and she spends most of her waking hours thinking about the San Francisco Giants. Oliver is 6 1/2, and he likes playing the guitar, talking about rabbits, riding his bike, and learning about whales.
