Our Home
Two story home in woodsy setting with nearby shops, cafes and parks. Close to university and downtown. Our home has hardwood floors, big windows looking out to the trees and garden. It is a friendly feeling space with colorful art and music studio with skylights in the back room. Upstairs are two bedrooms with queen beds and a bath. Downstairs the living and dining rooms look out on to the large trees and yard, a very peaceful view. A full size family kitchen opens to the back, with a den, with full wifi internet, another full bathroom,and an additional bright and colorful art/library room with a single bed, skylites and with french doors to a back patio.
In addition to our city home, we co-own a McKenzie River mountain cabin 55 miles east of Eugene near McKenzie Bridge, Oregon. The rustic 2 +bedroom vaulted ceiling cabin is located with a full porch facing the river, a 20 mile hiking trail along the river, and Belknap Hot springs pools very closeby. Hoodoo ski resort is 30 min. east. The cabin may be also available for exchange.
Our Neighborhood
Our neighborhood is beautiful and green, with a diversity of activities nearby. There are lots of trees, and a large park is at the end of the street with hiking trails, a creek and a barn for rehabilitating injured wildlife on the site of the former home of Senator Wayne Morse. Lots of people walk, bike, run in our university city of 150,00. Three blocks away from our home, is a shopping area with cafes, organic grocers, banks and even office Max. The University of Oregon is one mile away, as is our downtown cultural area with concerts at the performing arts center.
Oregonians love nature. The ocean is one hour away, with magnificent vistas, quaint beach towns, state parks and campgrounds. The mountains are one hour east, with breathtaking waterfalls, rushing rivers, snow covered mountains, beautiful lakes. Hiking, fishing, river rafting, mountain biking, skiing are all nearby. The city has a hiking trail encircling the top of thehillsides, called the ridgeline trail.
Portland, Oregon is 100 miles north of us, about a 2 hour drive. Ashland, a small town known for its Shakespearean Festival, is 3 hours south, on the California border. Bend is 3 hours east, in the high desert with skiing nearby.
Our area is rich with vineyards and wineries, and organic farms dot the area. Weekly there are several local farmers markets. and berries are a specialty of our Willamette Valley. Eugene is known as a progressive area, with alot of culture for a University small city. There are crafts fairs , an annual Bach Music Festival and American Music Festival in the summer, and weekly saturday craft markets outdoors in the city park downtown. Eugene is known for an abundance of creativity, with lots of concsious people. We recycle. We grow community gardens. We support the local economy and there are lots of health food stores around. Our home is a peaceful place for replenishing your spirit, and exploring the surrounding area.

Our Destinations
We are looking for Oregon/Washington coast places as well as locations in the San Francisco/ Oakland /Berkeley/Sausalito/Santa Cruz areas- water-related locations Beyond that, we are open to travel to various destinations on the West Coast and elsewhere, as our flexible sabbatical time permits on and off over the next two years. We really like being near lakes, rivers, oceans, bays! Israel and England are also preferred. Open to lots of offers of all sorts. We are creative and flexible. Send us an offer!

About Us
We a creative, professional couple with grown kids. Yitz is a cellist and clergy. Shonna is an artist and writer who also organizes international group travel. We both enjoy traveling and have many experiences with home exchange and renting our home during our travels.
