Our apartment is in a grand period property and has high ceilings and a huge open plan living space. Original Victorian features include decorative ceiling roses, high ceilings and marble fireplaces.. The apartment has gardens to front and rear. At the front there are views over open spaces which is a treat in London. To the rear the garden has decking and comfortable garden furniture for outdoor eating. There is also a study and a conservatory / studio. The two bedrooms are spacious one with a dressing area and the other large room is self contained in the basement. Both bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and there is also an additional bathroom with a bathtub.The kitchen area is well equipped for the keen cook and there is lots of space for sociable eating.One fireplace burns logs and coal and the other is gas fired. The house has stylish period radiators. There are plenty of books, including many art books, and a huge supply of CDs so you can relax at home if and when you wish.

Wandsworth is a very popular area of south London. It is leafy and green and yet access to the centre of London is quick and easy. From our apartment it is a five minute walk to the open spaces of Wandsworth Common which are very popular with the professional families that choose to live in this area. It is great to walk across the common on Saturdays and visit the Northcote Road Market with many lovely food shops, stalls and interesting places to eat.Access to central London is from Earslfield Station or the tube at Tooting Bec and takes less than half an hour. The bus stops round the corner and takes you to the South Bank for the National Theatre, Festival Hall and riverside attractions.From our apartment it is easy to visit Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park which have wonderful open spaces and delightful village type centres. The A3 road runs through Wandsworth and quickly takes you out of town to the delightful counties of Surrey and Hampshire

We would like a European City break at the beginning of January.Barcelona, Madrid or Lisbon would be lovely
Also somewhere in Europe over Easter
Next Summer we are interested in visiting either west or east coast USA for a longer stay

We are two retired teachers Gene [ female ] and Stuart. Gene teaches part time for a few days each week and Stuart arranges our social life. We enjoy going to the cinema, theatre, concerts [ folk music and rock ] visiting galleries and eating out. We also enjoy walking and walk in Surrey or around London- we are midway through walking the Capital Ring.
At home we like to cook, garden, read and listen to music. Recently we have visited several European cities and have loved our trips. We feel that traveling is helping us maintain our zest for life and are eager to keep doing it.
