Located in Australia's "Sunshine State" of Queensland on the Gold Coast our home consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large open plan lounge/dining/living area, modern kitchen and outdoor entertainment area with in ground saltwater swimming pool. Our back yard overlooks and has direct access to a large park land, with barbeque, playground and a half-basketball court. Our house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac with friendly neighbours. We have three bedrooms, one with queen size bed and the other two with double beds. Our fourth bedroom is used as a study. The house has been recently renovated with all living areas tiled. The laundry has an auto front load washing machine and dryer. The kitchen overlooks the patio and park, it is fully equipped with everything you need. The house has airconditioning for the warmer and cooler months, however the climate here is very enjoyable all year round.

We moved to the Gold Coast 28 years ago and love the year-round warm weather. Popular activities include boating, fishing, surfing and trips to pristine white sandy beaches which are only a few minutes away. If you enjoy the bush, the hinterland and World Heritage Lamington National Park with its incredible forests and unique fauna are 30 mins drive away. Mount Tamborine, Springbrook and The Scenic Rim are but a few. You will find beautiful rainforest walks and small villages offering restaurants, vineyards, markets and fantastic views. There are a multitude of good restaurant choices close by or within a short drive of home. The local shopping centres are as close as 5 mins drive and two of the largest shopping precincts in the Southern Hemishere, Pacific Fair and Robina, are within 20 mins drive. Harbour Town Shopping Mall [a huge factory outlet] is 5 mins away. There are numerous theme parks and attractions within 15 mins drive: Movie World; Sea World; Dream World; Wet & Wild Water Park; Outback Spectacular; Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo is a 1 hr drive North. For the golf enthusiasts we have over 30 local golf courses which will cater for every requirement. Brisbane is a 1 hr drive North and 2hrs North is Noosa and The Sunshine Coast. To the South 1 hr is Byron Bay with its beautiful beaches and great scuba diving, whale watching and charming community. The Gold Coast has its own international airport [Coolangatta] which is 30 mins away.

We are usually restricted to Queensland school holidays but as we are both taking long service leave either June-Sept or Sept-Dec 2014 and are trying to acquire exchange to South America in that time.

We wish to spend approx 10 days in Hawaii from 23 June 2013.

Our names are Paul and Heather. We have lived on the Gold Coast for the past 28 years. Paul is a Senior School Teacher and Heather is employed in Administration at the same school. We are both aged in our late 50's and enjoy golf, bushwalking, cooking and wine, music and entertainment. We have three adult children who have all left the nest and have been replaced by our dog Mia, who will be holidaying with our daughter while we are on exchange. We understand the trust and respect needed for a successful home exchange. We will love and care for your home the same way as we would our own. We have travelled extensively around the world and enjoy meeting new people and learning about other cultures.
We occasionally travel with another couple or one or two of our children and hope this would be acceptable.
