It can be chilly in LA, more so than people think, and the tile floors in this flat help in keeping the place cool. We have radiant heating in the master BR ONLY. We don't consider this a problem, but we lived in Minnesota for many years, so bring your slippers.

Culver City, home of Sony Pictures Studios, where movies ranging from Gone With The Wind to Spiderman were shot, is trending from a quiet West LA suburb to a hipper vibe. 20 minutes on foot from the condo is downtown Culver City, where the increasingly lively bar and restaurant scene attracts the cool kids from all over LA. The condo's location serves as an excellent LA base camp, with LAX, the beaches of Venice and Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood and downtown LA all within 20 minutes (Your results may vary, and certainly will during rush hour!) The unit is located minutes from either the I-405, the north/south spine of West LA, or I-10, the east/west freeway to downtown LA, making it a good location to start most trips. The Museum District (LA County Museum, the La Brea Tar Pits, the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Broad Contemporary Art Museum, etc) is very accessible, as is the Getty Museum, "just up the 405" as the locals put it.

A car is really necessary to reach the far-flung charms of LA, and a sturdy old stick-shift Volvo, suitable for local use, is available by arrangement.

Our approach with borrowing is to strive to return the owner's property a little better than when we borrowed it.

This is a second home for us, and we travel a fair amount, so the availability of this property is flexible and the exchange does not necessarily need to be simultaneous. Alternatively, we could arrange some sort of cash payment in lieu of exchange if your area is not on our list. We are flexible in most ways and are interested in many places. On our list would be most of Milwaukee, Amsterdam, New York City, Austin, Texas, San Francisco, urban or lake Minnesota, and either St. Thomas or St. John in the US Virgin Islands.
