This is a really lovely property with a small sunny front garden and shared access to a large back garden via double doors from the kitchen. In the summer you can leave the main front door open and the flat fills with light.

There are two bedrooms and a box room. The main bedroom has a king size bed plus plenty of storage. The second bedroom is currently furnished as a baby's room with a cot and a pull out double day bed, but the cot can be removed.

The sitting room is very large and bright. It is also quiet. As is the kitchen, which has a great 6 ring gas cooker, a large walk in dry goods cupboard, and a table and 6 chairs. The kitchen opens out on to a shared garden. The bathroom now has a bath with a shower over it (rather than a walk in shower) - I need to update the photo!

We have a large TV in the sitting room, with DVD player, sky TV with sports channels, and wireless internet throughout the flat. There is also a small TV in the main bedroom.

We have a cleaner who comes on a Friday and could arrange for her to clean during your stay.

The flat is just 10 mintues from the main shopping streets of Edinburgh. It is an amazing location to take in the Edinburgh festival from and very convenient for all the amenities the city has to offer.

The map shows us in Granton (I can't understand why), but in fact we are much much closer to the city than this.

Edinburgh is a fantastic small city with a great atmosphere. I have lived here for over 10 years and have loved every minute of it.

Its a great place to visit any time of the year, but August is festival month and the city takes on a whole new lease of life with things going on everywhere.

Search for Edinburgh Festival on line to get a flavour of it. The festivals cover comedy, theatre, cinema and all forms of the arts! A home exchange would make it so much more affordable to visitors as accomodation prices are very high in festival time.

We live in Stockbridge. It is a small village just down the hill from the centre of Edinburgh. It has lovely pubs and restaurants and a really great buzz about it. Princes street and the centre of Edinburgh is just 10 minutes walk away (uphill!!). You can easily jump on a bus though and they are very frequent and go everywhere you would want to go.

There is a lovely park about 5 minutes walk from the property with a kids play area and tennis courts available for anyone to use. We are also just 5 minutes from the Botanic Gardens and the Water of Leith (a lovely river with walks along it).

We would be very happy to provide any advise you need to help you plan your stay and trips outside Edinburgh, and there is just so much to see and do!

We are reassonably new to home exchanges (having only done 2).

We are proud of our home and would mind your home in the same way as we do our own.

Calum is into everything, but thankfully he is well behaved and not destructive so your home will be safe!

We are looking for an exchange in the late summer of 2013. Edinburgh is a fantastic place to visit in the summer, especially in August during festival time.

We would like to arrange our next exchange for late summer 2013. We are due a second baby in June, so can't travel in June or July. Ideally we are looking for somewhere easily accessible from Edinburgh, in Spain, Italy, Portugal or France. However we are open to suggestions. This year a long haul fligth will not be possible for us.

All that said, we would be very happy to exchange to other locations, ideally somewhere warm in the summer.

We would also be keen to arrange weekend city exchanges in the UK and in Europe.

My name is Stefanie and my husband is Keith. I'm Irish and Keith is a local Edinburgh boy! Our son is called Calum and he 2. Keith's parents live nearby which is nice.

We are both professionals and work full time. Calum is in nursery and minded by his granny once a week. We love travelling and have seen a lot of the world. We would now like to share that love with Calum and show him some of a fantastic sites there are to be enjoyed.

The house is equiped with lots of baby toys and all the other things you need for kids - high chair etc. We do not have a car as you just don't need one in Edinburgh, but we do have a childs car seat, which we may be able to leave for your use.

We also have tropical fish. We'd love it if you loved them, but in fact they can pretty much look after themselves and we can put in feed which is slow releasing, so they won't be any trouble to you.

We did our first exchange in August 2012 and had a great time, it all worked so easily and we did another one in March (2013) in England - which was also great.
