Our Neighborhood
We have lived in the lovely historic town of Bradford on Avon since 1996 and recommend it as a beautiful base from which to explore the South West of England. Bradford on Avon is a small market town with the feel of a friendly village. There are a great range of independent shops including a well-stocked book shop, unusual gift shops, delicatessen, and boutique clothes shop. The town is well provided by restaurants, pubs and cafes with over 20 different places to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee including the award-winning Bridge Tea Rooms where you will be served by waitresses in Victorian costume and the quirky Mr Salvats where the costume is more Dickensian. There is a brilliant local pub The Castle Inn which is two minutes walk from our house and has a great selection of local food, beer and ales. ( see the flatcappers website below for more information ) The town benefits from a lovely riverside park and canal only ten minutes walk from our house and for those who enjoy walking the canalpath will take you all the way to the World Heritage City of Bath.
Bath is a must-see for those coming to the South West, with the Roman Baths, Georgian Terraces, including the Royal Crescent and The Circus and beautiful Georgian buildings including the Pump Rooms and the Assembly Rooms and a range of beautiful and child-friendly parks, including Victoria Park, Alice Park and Henrietta Park. Bath also enjoys a modern Spa facility and a roof-top Spa offers fantastic views whilst bathing. Bath was also home to Jane Austen and visitors can discover more about her at The Jane Austen Museum. Of course the shopping is also fantastic with an amazing range of independent and well-known stores.
Bradford on Avon is also well located for exploring England and Wales by car and by train; London is only two hours away. The main motorways (M4 and M5) are 20 minutes drive away - providing easy access to both the South West and the North. Attractions for a day visit by car include Longleat House and Safari Park, Bowood House and Country Club, Westonbirt Arboretum, Glastonbury, Stonehenge and Cheddar Gorge. The nearest coastal town of Weston Super Mare is just over an hours drive.
We have listed various website for more information so you can see what is available in the local area. There is a lot to visit and you can have some great days out.

About Us
We are a typical family who enjoy home cooking, family walks and spending time together. Ronnie is a keen Golfer and Squash player. Ghika enjoys reading, knitting and crochet and is a keen amateur baker and has plenty of different cook books if you feel like trying out a new recipe. Our daughter, Ellie (15) loves playing music and we have a Piano in our dining room which she plays to a high standard. She also enjoys art and ballet. Josh (9) loves swimming and horse riding, he is also an avid Doctor Who fan and his bedroom door ( as seen in one of the photographs ) is a TARDIS. Both children are avid readers and we have a good collection of children's books for visiting children to enjoy. Typically they are both into modern technology and also enjoy playing on the Nintendo Wii and watching DVDs. We have a good selection of Wii games and DVDs for both adults and children.
