Our Neighborhood
Tucson, Arizona is a city of approximately 800,000 people in the Grand Canyon State, heart of the "old west". The city is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains on 4 sides, offering excellent sightseeing, biking, hiking, camping, bird watching and picnicking opportunities. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of numerous restaurants, shopping areas, bookstores, parks and the University of Arizona Medical Center. The Sonoran Desert offers a huge variety of plant and animal life found nowhere else in the world. There are numerous museums and old west attractions close by including the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Saguaro National Monument and Old Tucson amusement park and movie set. There are 20 golf courses in the Tucson area offering greatly reduced summer prices for world class accommodations. A 1 hour drive south takes you to Old Mexico, 30 minutes NE takes you to our 9,000 foot Mount Lemon alpine ski area, 6 hours north takes you to the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert and Petrified forest, 2 hours east takes you to Tombstone, Arizona (home of Wyatt Earp and the OK Corral) and 6 hours west takes you to southern California's beaches. See it all while you are here or just relax and enjoy Summer living in the Southwest.
